If Nash hasn't signed then Foster would be great till the end of the season !!!!!

Heard it as nailed on gospel last night off some PNE's that Nugent had asked HR if he could go back to PNE on loan (hence the recent speculation) B4 Ipshit stepped in.
HR told him in no uncertain terms he didn't want to be made to look a fool buying him & loaning him back so no chance.
So even if BF had the same idea I suspect SAF's answer would be the exact same.
No harm in trying though...get on the special-relationship / bat phone Rudgie...

Another theory for Nugent to Preston I heard last night...
Nugent is best mates with Sean St Ledger (defender for PNE). The last thing Harry wants is for Nugent to go back to his old club, settle down and think life is rosy again, as he will never want to return to Pompey.
A fair thought in my opinion
As for Foster, he seems a fair bit off being fit (despite being on the bench for their reserves last night). I'd prefer a fit Nash (or whoever) than a struggling Ben. Sorry!

Has Nash not played for over a year or something like that though? hmm

No smoke without fire on the Nugent thing whichever way it happened eh Knowlsey?
Hear what you're saying also about BF - but, providing he wasn't too ropey after the lay-off, i'd chance him, the name, reputation and his desire to get back "up there" alone must count for something with him?

How long do you think it will be before you’re playing first-team football again? I haven’t really thought about it too much. At the start of the season I wrote this season off myself. I just wanted to recover from the operation and get back to full fitness, with maybe a few reserves games. The chance of going out on loan is probably gone now. I think I will just have to wait until next season, realistically. Edwin [van der Sar] has been excellent again this season and Tomasz [Kuszczak] has performed well when he has been called in. I’ve got no qualms about not being put in any time soon.
Taken off there site..

Manc:
he certainly sounds like he might be up for a loan - if we think he's ready. (But then again Manure do, sticking him even on the bench in the reserves.)
Right too about Nash being sat on his arris for just about as long - but with less of an excuse.
Also, if they still haven't paid us for BF completely (?) maybe that might hold sway oooop there?

He certainly does sound up for a loan..But IMO I think as soon as he is proper fit etc etc SAF will be wanting him in his first team plans... Just my opinion though...Would much prefer BF to Nash though!!! We can hope eh

Exactly, a loan & game time is what will set him back on the road to an England place...but not for a good while yet.

If any of you think you could get Ben Foster on loan then you must be mad as he only go to a prem club or Watford. Hes the best goalie in england and has the potential to be the best in the world.

Nak...Yep he does have the potential to be the best in the world...But he hasn't played for a long time..He isn't going to get straight back into SAF'S team...So there is a very very very slight chance he could come here on loan but like most I very much doubt it!

Tayman:
fair do's but would he on a professional / career level particularly if it got him nearer to VdS quicker?
All that said, nobody would really expect him & we'll no doubt end up with Carlo Gash.
Oops.

He surely wouldn't go back to ANY Championship club on loan would he? He'll be pressing for a place in the England squad, and has come out and said that he's happy to wait until next season to begin his comeback properly.
