We need a really experienced head in the back line in my humble opinion to steady the nerves of some of the others, someone who has been there, done that, got the t-shirt .... someone who is cool as a cucumber

Injuries apart, is he going to drop either of his 1m centre-halves though?
Is Zakuani injured? Someone said he'd broken his toe.
If Cort is injured looks like a centre-half is a priority for the weekend.

Thought this for some time Cort & Shawcross are both young and need a Fortune,Doobs,Taggart style of player to instruct and bring out the best in them. I'm not a Matteo fan.

The worry is that there's no obvious Taggart available at this point isn't it, and that the best we can hope for is a 'Clint Hill'?
Who's around?
Stefanovic, Jaidi, Granqvist, Riggott, Henchoz, is Primus fit?
Higgy or Doobs??

Stokebill Primus would be a good signing (just my opinion) for the run in, but could we get him????
Also on Clint hill has a fee been agreed? has he signed for Palace or is he still on loan? If he hasn't signed we should recall him immediatley.
Any news on Corts injury looked very bad to me.

I haven't noticed Primus playing for Portsmouth this season, so the likelihood is that he's been injured. Surely he'd have gone out on loan before now if fit and just out of favour.

Primus is injured and out all season apparently - very bad knee injury.
There was a pretty strong shout for Riggott on here earlier in the week, wasn't there?
I think I read somewhere that Gramqvist isn't interested in a loan to a C'ship team.

Higginbottom would have been ideal.

Been needing one ever since the departure of a certain Danny Higginbottom as i have said months ago.
If Cort is going to be out injured then i would like to see Wilkinson in the heart of our defence providing of course that we cannot entice a leader to our club. I would much prefer to see Wilko there anyway as opposed to Cort because not only have we spunked away cash but Wilko is a hell of alot more aggresive and would not be shy in dishing out a bollocking or two should it be needed. Very impressed with Wilko the way that he has come on and he's just what we need to replace Cort, even if he aint badly injured.
To be honest without such then i believe that we will fall away.
HOW MANY FUCKIN TIMES DO WE HAVE TO BE SECOND BEST TO ANY/ALL BALLS WHICH ARE KNOCKED DOWN IN OUR OWN PENALTY AREA?. SCANDALOUS AND IT REALLY GRIEVES ME.

It's hard to knock Pulis this season - but putting together a centre-half partnership costing potentially a whopping £3.5m, then finding they don't complement each other with neither offering any leadership in the short-term must go down as a major planning error.

I don't see how playing a 60year old chain smoking 'jock' detective who's permanently pissed is going to improve things..............
Infact he's dead..!

There really is no obvious target around.
Anthony Gardner has finally moved on from Spurs reserves to Everton. Christian Dailly might have been another candidate, to Rangers. Someone like Andy O"Brien seems to have found a home. Davenport and Primus injured. Even Ian Pearce has decided to work for a living.
Our old friend Roy Keane seems most likely. From the outside Higginbotham or McShane seem to have fallen out of favour.

mmmm, this may sound weird but i think we need a "taggart" type keeper MORE.

....and everyone would welcome Danny Higginbotham back after the abuse that was levelled at him on this board when he decided he was too good for us? I thought he was a twat for what he did. He was the club captain and a massively influential figure in that team last year and after making all his promises after the QPR game he sold us down the river. Yes he has to look after himself and I don't want to get into an argument about the rights and wrong of it, I'm merely asking the question, would he be given a good reception? Griffin openly admitted he fucked up in his choice of going to Derby, I think this helped fans to accept him back again. He's also been a player who has never really let us down any time of the half a dozen times he's been on our books

He's been out with a broken toe by the looks of it, since the New Year. There's a fair chance he'll be back in the shake-up to play for S'land this weekend apparently.
