As well as QPR having mega rich owners I now hear that Sheffield W are about to be taken over by some very rich people. If we don't go up this year I think it will be very hard to compete with these two next year.

Nah, the league looks tough every season but everyone usually ends up as mediocre as each other

Maybe not our last chance, but definitely our best chance.
We are in a great position, full of confidence and injury free. The Leagues got to be stronger next season, with QPR, Norwich on the up, new money at Wednesday, Sheff Utd can't be as bad now Robbos gone. Plus Derby under Jewell will be good as will the third relegated team Wigan/Sunderland/Reading/Brum. Think Swansea will be Ok too, and Leeds and Forest might come up with them.
This is a great season to get out of this division.

The danger will come more from within....will Coates bankroll another season push?...thought last season would be our best chance but it turned out that there is even less quality this season.

No, we've got a team ready to start the season already, no more trying to get players in at the end of August, missing pre-season etc. We may need to do some rebuilding though once Broomes, parkin, Pulis, Pericard are sent packing to be replaced by quality for the top league though ;D

I don't think its out last chance, but given the position we are in now, we probably won't get a better chance.
Coatesy wouldn't really need to bankroll significantly, as all players with exception of Gallagher and Fulop are on LT contracts, so main expense is wages, if we fail this year I think we'd sell alot of ST's next year because alot of people would expect us to be challenging all season long.
As NorthwichStokie points out, any signings could largely be funded through getting Broomes and pericard off the wage bill, although there would be an initial hit for transfer fees (Gallagher is free this summer, not sure about Fulop)
Matt
Edit - Didn't realise Fulop had gone back already, wonder what i'll happen to his training kit and match day shirt (brand new, unused, ever)

I think it’s our best chance for sure, can’t see us being in this position again next season, if we don’t take advantage this time around. The first problem would be keeping some of the better players, the chances are with the more high profile of some of them, lower half Premiership clubs would be sniffing around. So we could find ourselves trying to rebuild again, which may not be as successful as this time, that said we do seem to be putting a squad together and so if it was kept together with some additions, then no reason why should the wheels fall off, that we can’t be just as competitive next season. I personally don’t think they will.
Though whether it would be the last chance, hard to say, it would depend on many factors, whether Coates was prepared to plough money in for players again at the same rate he did in January. There’s also the factor that just because a club has financial muscle there are no guarantees of success, yes of course it’s preferable to not having money but a bad manager can spend lots of money and achieve nothing.
The only thing we can say for certain, is lets hope we can make our advantages tell this season and then we don’t have to worry about next and whether things will be different for us in the Championship, we will have at least tow years funding from the Golden kitty.
