I Google searched for "Invalid carriage": Pretty specialised fetish you've got going there?

I was once overtaken by one whilst being driven along by a young lady in a Metro. Whether that is a comment on the Invercar or the Metro is up to you to decide....

God am I glad I didn't end up in a wheelchair back when you got issued with one of those, I know they were lifelines for some people but apparently they're the most terrifying thing on earth to drive.

It's not your fanpage is it Widget? haha nope sadly - although i have fond memories of a teacher at primary school who drove a reliant robin. fantastic man. i can't imagine they were ever safe to drive though, the modern day cinquecento scares me too!

The motorbike license argument always amused me. Who went from the uber-cool of a bike to the super-naff of a Reliant 3-wheeler?
Perhaps old blokes with brylcreamed hair, a chinstrap helmet and a sidecar?

The robin and invacar two totally separate vehicles. Robin had an 850cc engine. I gave up my 500cc Triumph for a Robin when I had to travel between Catterick/Leek/Aldershot on a weekly basis when being discharged from the army in the middle of winter of 1976. It did me well for the three months of going back and fore in the warm. 85mph up the M1 with barely a wobble. While in Aldershot had four in the back with me and another in the front and still managed 60 along the M4 to London. Wouldn't want another one though.
