Saw this in the steam store, I play FM10 alot but ive never tried a Fifa/EA version of a manager game, from what i can find it look a ok game, but ive also seen the reviews, It seems that its a huge let down compared to FM10 and I think i would be wasting my money, just wondering if anyone here has tried it and got anything positive to say about it?

FIFA manager suffers at the moment from not really being that much interest to EA. Once it is, EA will probably blow SI out of the water.
The problems is the database isn't done like SI's, its done from a few stat sheets so representations aren't that great or accurate - players at Man Utd/Arsenal/Real Madrid etc are rated much better just because they're at that club and so on.
Football Manager is the elite out there at the moment, Fifa manager is probably 3rd behind Championship manager - its more gimmicks and such, I remember you could have a stock portfolio, buy yourself titles (ie Lord, Baron etc) there is some good stuff in there, but its mired down in a lot of pointless crap.

you'd think EA would have both FIFA products using the same database, or is that just me having some common sense?

FIFA's database is hugely inaccurate, and the attribute weightings for FIFA isn't that well balanced, so more obscure players are usually quite inaccurate when it comes to pace, technical ability etc. For example, a large amount of league 2 players will be rated with less pace than someone like Gary Neville even though in reality they aren't.
The FIFA manager used to when I last saw it have more stats in, so there had to be different databases. One thing is its a hell of a lot easier than FM usually.
