Upthepotters you dont believe, because you dont want to believe. I am sorry the SJE move is going to kick Stoke up the arse. The lad is playing superbly,he does not have the worry of a 12 months contract round his neck and his Manager certainly rates him. I can see him being made Captain in the near future.

How is the move going to kick us up the arse, Moorlander?
Are you saying that Eustace is better than Whelan on current form?
Or are you saying that Eustace is going to get Watford to promotion ahead of us?
Don't get me wrong, I like Eustace but swapping him for Whelan hardly counts as a disaster in my eyes.
EDIT: Given Eustace's injury problems over the past 3 years I would have been very uneasy if Stoke had offered him a contract of more than 12 months. It is no one's fault but we have paid him 4 years wages for only just over one season's games.

Whelan is 10 times the player.
100 % commited is eustace, but don't kid yourself into thinking that he is anything better...

Moorlander-strange how we've gone on such a great run without him- is that the kick up the backside he's given us ???
Perhaps we've just replaced him with a far better player and you can see that because of your concerning fascination with him
Did you send him a Valentine ?

£6 and half plus grand a week eh? Anyways, I'm really glad it worked out for him and he got his career back. Regardless of whether he wanted to stay sometimes you have to move on in life and find a new challenge which he seems to be grasping full on. If he gets promoted with Watford so be it. We too need to refresh our team and did so in the form of Whelan, who I guess finds us his new challenge such is the way of the world not just football. I wish SJE luck but he's gone and that's that basically!

Its all about opinions, but I do see Stoke playing in most games during the season and have done so for far more years than I want to remember. I see Forskin the famous football pundit who spends all day tracking IT football sites, does not mention Daeo. I have yet to see it come out in Whelan.

"Stoke's Luftwaffe".
That might have made a bit of sense had Jez "Hermann Goering" Moxey still been at the club, but unfortunately he was last seen stealing precious art-works, hunting game and eating everything in sight in the Wolverhampton area.

Eustace has played really well for us and has yet to put a foot wrong, giving us just what we need.

Good for you- never said I dis-liked him just replaced him with far better.
No co-incidence we're top and won all our games since Whelan took his place.
Just a thought

is it a coincidence that since eustace has gone to watford, we have gone on a great run, and are a lot more creative in midfiled, scoring (and conceding ) a lot more goals, where as watford are getting a lot of draws, and are not as creative in midfiled, which has caused them to drop down out of the automatic promotion spots

Since hes been here we've scored 8 goals and conceded 3 goals in which none were the defences fault. Brilliant signing at that price.

Sounds like both teams have done okay from the deal then.
Getting Whelan for, effectively, £250,000 (£100k if Watford go up) is a phenomenal bit of business (although I guess he's on A LOT more than Eustace was here)

Honestly mate its pointless coming on here and telling us about Eustace. We know all there is to know. Unfortunately Super Johns injuries caught up with him and when he started playing again he simply didnt appear to be the same player. He may have been playing in a deeper role but one sign of his deterioration was that he used to get 10 goals a season but these days he never got a sniff. Nevertheless I think we all wish him the best and if Watford go up with him in the side along with Stoke we will all be happy. We are happy with Whelan as a replacement though as he is no doubt a better long term prospect
