Got a PS3 20Gb and was thinking of selling it and upgrading to the 120Gb Slim.
I've had it for about a year and a half, never had a problem with it, it's got a few little scratches on the casing that can only be seen if a lights/ sunlight is on it. With a spare official Playstation controller.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I reckon you should go to overclockers and have a look at buying a bigger hard drive, may I suggest around 320GB?

Was the 20GB even sold in the UK?
I had to import a 20GB Japenese model when the PS3 first came out. It was silly expensive for what I got.

How much for the HDD upgrade and is it really necessary? Just an intrested question. I have the original 60gb with backward capability.

The 320 harddrive was only 40 notes and for me worth every penny. I was really running out of space, but now can be used as a proper multimedia center.
That was the other thing with the slim, its not backward compatible. Granted I never play ps2 games anymore but its nice to know its there.
Overall, its worth doing if you are either running out of space or thinking about buying a ps3 slim.

How easy was it to fit the new hard drive Mr red? I've got an old 40gb one and like the 4 usb's, backwards compatibility thing too.

It was a piece of piss mate. Simple guide;
Back everything up via the ps3 menu onto an external harddrive/flash drive (would say minimum of 8 or 10gb).
Have a look on the bottom of your PS3, theres a little slot, open that up, get a phillips screwdriver, take the one out, and out pops the caddy holding the harddrive. Uncsrew the harddrive from the caddy, pop the new one in, screw it up and insert back in. Before you switch the PS3 on, download version 3.0 from the playstation website onto the external harddrive under in 2 folders PS3>UPDATE (or something- easier to look on ps3 site).
Put it in the PS3, switch it on, let it update and when its done, Restore via the PS3 menu.
Was a doddle.

Its very easy change your drive. Only issue I have now is that every now and again is it thinks the HD is missing after power on. Powering off, tapping the side of the PS3 a couple times and power back on, bob is your uncle back in business

I had about a 100kb left, hence the need for a bigger one.
