www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_3186142,00.html On-loan goalkeeper Marton Fulop is hoping to earn a permanent deal at Stoke by helping the Potters into the Premier League. The Sunderland keeper signed on loan until the end of the season on Friday, with a view to a permanent move in the summer, and the Hungary international has set his sights on regaining a starting berth. The 24-year-old played 24 games on loan at Championship strugglers Leicester in the first half of the season but has spent the last two months on the sidelines at Sunderland having been behind Craig Gordon and Darren Ward in the pecking order. Fulop will have to battle it out with Steve Simonsen for a first-team role at Stoke but he is confident of becoming first-choice during the Potters' promotion push. Happy "I'm extremely happy that I don't have to sit on the bench and I can prove my abilities on the pitch," he told Nemzeti Sport. "I want first-team football because I can only be in the Hungarian squad with regular football. "I haven't trained with the (Stoke) team yet as I have a tiny injury so I may only be on the bench against Ipswich but manager Tony Pulis assured me that he brought me here to be first-choice keeper." First impression Stoke are top of the Championship on goal difference heading into Saturday's home clash with Ipswich and Fulop is relishing the prospect of a promotion challenge. "According to the contract, I'm going to stay here until the end of the season but if the club reach their goals and I feel as good as my first impression was, then I may stay here for a longer period," he said. "The team's goal is promotion so it appears to be much more different for me to play here than fighting relegation with Leicester." ;D ;D

"but manager Tony Pulis assured me that he brought me here to be first-choice keeper" - I know we shouldn't be getting all sentimental, but that made me feel a little bit bad for Simmo. He's done a sterling job for us.

fulop is a better keeper though.
Well done tone. He will command his area and organise the back four really well.
I love simo, but his time has been spent..

Simmo has done a great job for us, although Fulop should get a bit of a run
