Where do they get the ragamuffins that parade around with that bloody big flag before the match.
Out of around 25 of them trying to keep it from blowing away only 3 were in Stoke tops.
If they can't be arsed to buy a Stoke top they shouldn't be allowed on the pitch.
They're representing Stoke City for fcuks sake.
PS Do they pay to get in or are they all on feebies?

I know what you mean, looks a bit trampy. We had enough in the ground today, why not put it in the stand?

I wasn't wearing my Stoke top today either but then again I wasn't parading on the pitch with the bloody flag.
My point is that if they are on the pitch they should at least look as if they are representing the club.
Didn't you notice all the cameras about. If that gets on the telly we are going to look like right diddies.

They are all Stoke fans for gods sake! Would you have turned the chance of walking on the pitch because you didnt have your top on?

I thought that with a full house it would have been worth showing it off by passing it around.

I was one of the three in a Stoke top then! We are all season ticket holders and the intention was to put it in the crowd! We waited til 2.45 and the boothen and corner was virtually empty so we were told we couldn't and had to go on the pitch again! Loads of people have been asked to do it but amazingly very few people want to! Personally I love doing it! So long as the flag is our biggest problem I am VERY happy!

IM SORRY, BUT IT WAS A BIT COLD MATE!!!
Do you expect them to wear just a t-shirt.
And it is a bit tacky for an over 40 to be wearing a stoke shirt......

thefire I was not one of the guys on the pitch with the flag but I do know that they have a great deal of trouble getting people to go out there and help with the flag carrying. Go down to the entrance between the shop and ticket office at about 2pm on match day and you will find Brian Shaw (the Chair of the Stoke Supporters Club) asking people to help with the flag. Go down there - take a few mates - all in your Stoke tops and I am sure Brian will be greatful. tnbiscuits was also correct - at 2:45 there were large gaps in the stands and that is one hell of a flag to "pass around" in the stands when there are not enough people there to handle it. The original idea was to pass it around and it was done but today - until 5 minutes before kick off it would not work. My opinion is the guys should take it to the centre circle wave it a few times then place it on the ground. Then just before kick off retrieve it in the same way. Perhaps next year in the Premier - the stands will be full earlier - so much better. In the meantime, the fire, see if you and your mates can help them out and carry it.

Good point ------------------ the weak point on the flag carrying is that tnbiscuitswithtone is just too small and the flag dips

I cannot believe most of these comments. How dare anyone too lazy to do it themselves, criticise others?
Some of the carriers are regulars but only out of a sense of duty and to save their club and fellow supporters from embarrassment.
I've done it once myself - and as a rag-tag - because they were short, but it meant being late to my seat up in the main stand. Personally, I think they all deserve a medal.
How about volunteers meeting outside the club shop at 2.30 next home match?

I tell you what from where I was standing , one of the younger lads holding that flag nearly left the ground when one gust of wind caught his section , know someone who has helped with the flag, fair play to those that do it, and smite those that have a moan about it

Come on stokethefire - now is your chance to show everyone that you are not just a moaning sod and you are willing to take support your views. Get down there for the Burnley game - see how many "Stokies" in tops - you can bring with you and let Brian know you want to help - the guys you have had a go at do a tremendous amount for supporters and club but they are also the first to say "thanks for the help" - Will you be there????
