Homzy says on teamtalk that he doesn't think we will go for beye but has heard that we're interested in a current premiership player who can play right back as well as right wing. Off the top of my head i can only really think of faubert from west ham who is supposedly available but the DNA argument might take effect with that one. I'm probably missing someone really obvious though. Anyone? Belhadj ?

Possibly the most important factor for this coming season , may not be a shiney new player or two , but instead it will be us , THE FANS , who will need to be as earsplittingly loud and every bit as totally committed and supportive to our eleven heroes in red and white , even when the chips are down , and as intimidating to the opposition , and keeping the belief as we so admirably demonstrated last season . I don't know what news we have had tonight as i was late getting onto the computer , and reading back ten pages or so , haven't really been able to get a comprehensive update on whats gone on , but do get a real sense of frustration and miserableness . I only hope that this will not translate onto the terraces , this season , if {as our expectations may have been raised ,} we start to struggle a bit , or dont get the results { because of this raised expectation} we expect . We all know that a major part of our achievements last season were , in part , helped by the magnificent support WE generated to the team , and I think we have to step up to the plate again and do our bit. So know matter who pulls on our red and white shirts this season , lets all show them that we are right behind them , we are not just here to make up the numbers, we won't be pushed around, we are ALL Stoke , and we are with them , every step along the way . Amen Edit: Of course a shiney new player or two would help a bit Sam Whatever happens in the transfer market the atmosphere will be the same (more like Man.C). Stoke City are the fans club and the crowd will lift them again this season. FEYNMANN.Go to bed... you're shopping later with the children Yes I'm sure you're right VBB . We should aim to outdo ourselves this season . Incidentally was there much news tonight? Read something about a Hull bid for Zigic ? but wasn't sure if it was real or a joke?

Sam Sam Sam, Its early on a Saturday morning - really not the time for excellent motivational speeches, anyone would think this thread is about football or SCFC even!!! - I have to say though its a very good point well made, now bumming, shopping, alcohol, kids - whats your poison!?! ;D i like how you strategically kept "bumming" and "kids" apart, admin would have had a field day. ;D good points sam mate, i can just picture you in your room, wide-eyed at half 1 manically bashing out your speech without a pause for breath on your keyboard. the only time ive ever bin that positive and enthusuastic at half 1 was chemically induced. how many signings we thinking by next friday? samething again with dave assuring us it will speed up...? bloody love this thread but its draggin on a bit nahhhh He he , you re almost there blaow , in the kitchen , full of abbot ale , mrs and kids in bed { missing those chemically induced days , that have long gone by now } Ooo i really don't know what to expect by next week ? I would be thrilled with an O'Neil and Beye , but no idea if we are even close to either ?

We should get Beye My most dubious source reckons were defo talking to Robinson but who knows. Seems pretty quiet on the western front to be honest. Is Ashton going to sign tomorrow, twas what I was told last weekend, but not heard anything since didn't dave say we were interested in a player from west brazil ? Golly i hope it isn't Robinson . A useless dirty thug of a player . Please no

We are talking to at least 12 players/ agents. A couple of those could happen quite soon, maybe a deal could be announced this week Dave could we have a vague position list ? e.g 12 players agents 3 defenders 5 mids 4 forwards something like that possibly?

Evening Dave So it is the player himself who's slowing things down rather than his club or the administrative logistics of completing the deal? Dave ???

Is the medical man deal and contract extreamly complicated ? say many more times complex than the whitehead deal for example ? is this why it is taking so long ? is any of that close Dave?

Ok, here's a choice...if Stoke could get only get one of these players, and the deals were equally fair, who would you rather have? Bentley, Tuncay, or Murphy? Have we definately made a bid for Tuncay ?

Guys Get a grip. STRENGTH IN DEPTH Something we massively lacked last season at times. Dunne and Whitehead would be super for the squad. Abdy is by far the best player at the club and our most influential player, TP isnt an idiot, there is more chance of man being on mars by August than him leaving. AGREED BUT why would Dunne want to come?? Perhaps he thinks or even knows he won't be first choice at citeh anymore after they have finished spending . Maybe he loves his house and doesn't want to move out of it . Maybe he is one of those players Dave alluded to , that was extreamly impressed with our atmosphere ?

Done. Norris McWhirter will be popping on after to see if this is the World's longest thread based on nothing but fatuos gossip, spurious rumour, speculation & heated argument as to whether the opening poster has anything to do with the subject concerned or just a really clever bullshitter. I'm cautiously optimistic. he is coming for all that , oh yes , and a bum
