Some great football on that video. How good was Hudson? Well, he ran the match when England beat Germany, then world champions, 2-0 but he didn't get on with Alf Ramsey, or rather, Alf didn't get on with him. Best tribute Alan reckoned that ever had was when Stoke skinned Liverpool , when they had a decent side. Bill Shankly asked Tony Waddington: "Do you mind if I go into your dressing room?" Tony said, "Sure." He walked in, went up to Hudson and said: "Well played, son." And walked out. You'd remember that, wouldn't you?

Quite a respected Spurs ITK guru reckons Yevhen Konoplyanka agreed to join Stoke a while back but failed to turn up. He doesn't know what he's missing...'venice of the north' Stoke is !! Except for the canals. And the tourists. And the beautiful buildings. And the weather. But a better football team.

Wonderful. Hope newer fans will watch and appreciate how good Alan Hudson was. Lovely how Terry Conroy beats a man, though his spindly legs were a target for every full-back. Funny: don't remember farmer Pejic scoring all those goals...And great to see skill battering the Leeds Thugs XI

Alan Hudson, first time round. Endured decades in the wilderness afterwards, cos you can never change your team. Good to see that my eternal faith has been rewarded now.
