Yeah i reckon he may be on his way, doesn't seem to be in any plans for our first team, and i still think he can do a good job at that level for sure.

Good move for Griff ,and although I'd never say good ridance to a decent feller and team servant as Andy is,I think the time has passed where he can bring anything to the 1st team.

Good move for Griff, he'll certainly still be able to compete at Championship level.

It says on the SSN news bar that Andy Griffin would consider a loan move away from Stoke

From the beeb: "I would be interested in going out loan, as long as it's commutable every day and I can see my two boys, my little girl, and my wife every day. "I've come to a point in my life when my family is more important than playing a little bit of football." He'll do well commuting to Boro every day - can't see that one happening. Sounds like he's losing interest in the game - best to offload if we can!

How can we offload him and Cort at the moment ??? If Wilko was injured on Saturday we'd have two defenders out, and six available, the bare minimum to make a four plus two for matchday. Let's not even go there with Pugh being left back cover either Fine to offload in January if Shotton is recalled and if we get another full back even better

He wouldn't be doing badly if he can get into their team to be honest. That West Brom game aside, they've done pretty well this season. Would be a good move for him, and may well go permanent.

Be fair to Griff he is Stoke through and through, not his fault we dropped through the leagues when he was coming good, Newcastle took a punt on him then and I was gutted he left. Years later and he returned and showed a stoic resolve for the team. Things have now changed, he has lost his pace and ability at this level but could do a decent job at Championship level. If he goes then he goes with my best wishes and good luck at that level. He will always be a Stokie in his heart though

This is what Griffin had to say about Tuesday night: “At 2-0, we played quite well, but individual mistakes didn’t help." So that would be the five minute period when the scoreline was 2-0?

"I've come to a point in my life when my family is more important than playing a little bit of football."
That explains the last two years then!

I hope he goes, the guy is absolute wank. I beg to differ Although he lacks pace I thought he had some really good games for us last season, and some really wank ones obviously but I feel he made up for that. Goodluck to Griff if he goes, certainly a great player for any championship team and I thought he had some good games against some of the big teams last season.

Andy Griffin is a legend. I saw him as a kid emerge at Stoke and he was a class act - best player on the field week after week. If there were room for sentimentality in football, then Griff deserves to stay. If he goes, then he does so with a 'thanks for all you've done'. He seems like the sort of player who ought to take his coaching badges and move into that side of football. I think he likes playing too much and I suspect we'll see him for a few years to come playing his career out through the lower leagues.
Whatever happens, good luck Griff.

To be fair, I reckon, or HOPE at least that most players would say that their family is more important than playing ANY kind of football!

To be fair, I reckon, or HOPE at least that most players would say that their family is more important than playing ANY kind of football! It's a very strange comment for a professional footballer to make, in my opinion. Of course his family is going to be more important, but he's a very highly paid young man who seems content to sit on his hands.

Why would Boro want him? He's a Championship player and they're hellbent on being in the Prem next season so it really doesn't match their ambition IMO.
