Just thought I would highlight how pleased I am for Simmo this morning.
He was absolutely superb and once again showed what a top keeper he is. He has never let Stoke down and as I have said on countless occasions previously, he has suffered a very harsh fate for his one dodgy spell (during our promotion season) during his 6 seasons with us.
He has saved us a damn site more points than he has ever cost us and at last he got his just deserts playing a hero's role in a game at a top premiership club.
It is no more than he deserves for his sterling service and efforts for us and whilst our team were absolutely magnificent, I simply couldn't help but feel chuffed to bits for Simmo!
What a day...What support...What a result...What a team...Fanfuckingtastic!

Couldn't agree more. A true gentlemans performance. Pulled off some magnificant saves and commanded his area quite well, never over-reacted or milked the moment after making said saves, just got on with the game and stood strong. Brilliant and in reflection, a true Stoke performance. Grit, determination and desire!

And to think there was a few posters on here in the lasy month questioning if he was good enough to be a 2nd choice keeper at a prem team !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good display, Sorro is our no 1 but Simmo was superb yesterday. he's a more than capable understudy.

So many of our players show those qualities everyweek, even when we lose. I guess that is why we are so proud of them and why we were so disappointed with the performance v Manure.
Simmo is a top man, but you really could say that about almost everyone of our team. Would Ryan have gone off if he had been in Woodgate's position? Would Rory have gone off had he been in Lennon's position? Not a chance!
Our players are real men, real footballers and to be honest, I think that is why we can associate with them so much. They play for our club with the same pride and passion that we would do if we had their ability.
Long may it continue...I am not Pulis' greatest fan, but I thank him wholeheartedly for this trait in our team.

Superb post match interview too. He knows sorensen is number one but he doesn't moan and groan, he's a true professional and just gets on with it because he loves being at stoke. Not many back up keepers as good as simmo in the prem for me.

Roots...Agree mate. When you throw in the likes of Jensen, Hart, Hennesey, Myhill, Almunia, I would say that some clubs in our division don't have a first choice keeper as good as Simmo.
We are blessed to have two very good goalkepers in our ranks. I honestly don't think there is much between them, but Sorro probably edges it due to his sheer physical presence.

Great performance from Simmo. I just love this bit from the match report in the Times:
"The second half began with Simonsen foiling Kranjcar and Robbie Keane — all in front of an England manager badly in need of a goalkeeper of such effectiveness."
Are you watching Fabio??
