Although we do not know the prices of next season's tickets, I have done some calculations (which don't actually mean much but I am bored)
OK, I'm not quite sure where I am going with this, but I just thought I would share my estimated cost of ticket prices to you all!!
Next season, if we are playing in the Premier League, we will have 19 home league games as opposed to the 23 we currently play.
A ticket in the Boothen End currently costs £20 per match. £20 x 23 = £460
Last year's early bird price was a bargain £299 (a generous saving of £161). This would be likely to rise to roughly £340 this year?
To match this £460 next season (in the Premier League), ticket prices would automatically increase to £24.21 for 19 matches
You would expect a 10-15% rise on ticket prices anyway.
So, perhaps we can look at a basic rate of about £27 per ticket in the Premier League.
If we stayed in the Championship, match day prices on ticekts are likely to be approximately £22.50 I would have thought
Tony Scholes last night pointed out that we are currently the 3rd cheapest season ticket in the league, a trend that I fear won't continue to be honest
NB- All prices are based on the Boothen End

An honest opinion there K, do you think we would sell many at those prices ?

At £27? I think it is a fair representation of the over inflated Premier League market. If you bear in mind we had to pay £30 to watch Birmingham away on a Sunday morning last year when it was on TV, I think people would probably be prepared to pay it. As for season ticekts, I think we will retain the main core whatever price it goes up to plus collect a few additionals who want to see the top names. At the end of the day, you have to pay big prices to see the likes of Ronaldo, Gerrard, Fabregas and Pericard

So you are suggesting that the early bird price will rise from 299 to 340, as well as the number of games to reduce from 23 to 19 I calculate that to be a total of 35% increase. Is that acceptable?

Probably not acceptable Craig but it's the type of indication Scholes gave last night.
I don't think they are going to take into account the number of games when announcing initial season ticket prices
(I hope I'm wrong though!!)

I don't think they are going to take into account the number of games when announcing initial season ticket prices By the same token they cant take into account which league we'll be in so 340 from 299 is too high, imho

They realise that people round here aren't flush with cash and Coates probably realises a full house every game next season if we go up would roll on to the season after no matter what division we are in. He won't want to price fans out and then end up with 22k crowds and back to 16k crowds if we coem straight back down.
Also there is huge optimism at the minute so if people see a price that is a decent Championship price then they'll jump on it purely for the fact it could turn out to be a great saving on possible Prem football, for example we could sell 15,000 ST's before the end of March and that could spur us on to get promoted aswell and if we don't go up then the club has covered its back and has a heralthy ST following for next season
