He was with Nick Hancock getting a tour of the factory and meeting many of its hard working individuals.
He was'nt there too long as you'd imagine!

I don't like Bentleys I must admit. Saying that if anyone one wants to give a Bentley I'll happily accept it!

My granddad worked at Royce's for many years and every so often as a lad I'd go in the factory on the family open day.
I distinctly remember going on a family day in 1975 just after the Rolls Royce Camargue was launched and I remember thinking then how ugly the car was. With hindsight I now know it was a bag of nails, although based upon the Shadow and never sold that many (500+) but what disappointed me was how so many of the engineers, of which my granddad was one, really knew how poor the car was but the "marketing" people thought they knew better.
Shame to think that both Rolls and Bentley are now owned by the very country that was trying to bomb them in an attempt to stop producing those magnificent Merlin engines for the Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancaster bombers.

Not really a shame cause they would be dead if not taken over.

Think the wages we are on at the min are less than what your Grandad was on in 1975! Morale at Bentley is very low!

Dont talk shite, Bentley staff get a decent wage for what they do and the hours they work. You wouldnt find one person working for Bombardier (crewe works) who wouldnt swap their job for one at Bentley.

I beg to differ Hackett and so will the rest of the production staff! 26% less money for knocking out the same amount of cars, yeah thats a decent wage! NOT!
