I know it's not going to happen, but just for a laugh...if Stoke went under, who would you support and why? (The only rules are that if you name a non-league team, you also have to name a league team....oh, and no "I COULDN'T support anyone else, i'd rather die" type comments...you're not impressing anybody ) I would support Leek Town or Newcastle Town, the former because i know a few Leek fans through work and have grown used to looking out for their result at the weekend, the latter because I was brought up in Newcastle and sometimes went to watch Town play other league sides in friendles. If I had to choose a league team I couldn't choose Vale or Crewe due to the rivalry thing, so would probably have to go for Macclesfield, as they'd be the closest.

probobly just kill myself I would do that first. But if I had to pick it would be Newcastle Town. Couldn't support Vale and can't stand Crewe.

I shouldn't say this given that we play them on sunday but I'd support Everton.

Good question - Never Vale or Crewe, christ I dunno.
Shrewsbury Town, quite local and I've got a good mate who supports them!

..Kidderminster Harriers cos they're down the road, my 'local' team, although i do have a soft spot for Stourbridge Glassboys who are within walking distance.
..at the risk of sounding a bit poncey, if i moved away i'd support a team local to where i lived. although nothing could ever truly replace my love and support for Stoke, my birthplace.

AFC Stoke of course. Seriously, though - I can't quite believe I'm going to admit to this - as an impressionable young Stoke fan at school, wanting to fit in with all my gloryhunter mates, I decided I was going to choose a First Division team to follow so that I could have some banter with them. Not wanting to go full-on sheep-style gloryhunter, I chose Nottingham Forest. I even had a shirt one season. I soon grew out of it, but there is a period of Forest's recent history (Cloughs senior and junior, Des Walker, Stuart Pearce, Ian Woan, Steve Chettle, Scott Gemmil, Garry Parker ) which I have a soft spot for. So I guess I'd have to try to rekindle my childhood fancy for them. God I feel dirty. ;D

I suppose I couldn't go up the Vale really, but it'd be nice to keep one team in the city going. Then again, where were they when we went bust, eh?
I don't know really. I couldn't obsess the same about another club as I have with Stoke, I just wouldn't have the same passion.

I'd probably follow Barrow AFC, but I wouldn't have the same passion that I do for Stoke, I wouldn't feel the same devastation I do when we lose, or the same elation when we win Stoke going out of business would be a worser feeling than death itself I should imagine. Makes you appreciate where we are and what we've achieved

God I feel dirty. ;D It's OK, I've been there as well during my childhood...flirting with glory-hunting like some kind of...erm....slag. At 7 I supported Everton, then Man Utd when they beat them in the cup-final, before switching back to the toffees when my Mum got me an Everton colouring set for Christmas. Thankfully my Dad showed me the error of my ways by giving me a damned good thrashing, shitting on the Everton colouring set, and taking me to my first Stoke game. However, despite my love for Stoke, I also had a bit of a soft spot for late 80s Forest, as even as a young child i recognised the maverick spirit still present in a fading-Cloughie and thought, yep, that drunken bloke in the green jumper, punching them pitch invaders...he's the kind of fella I like! (I still do love reading or watching anything to do with Clough, and he remains, probably alongside Ali as my all-time sporting hero). I also (God, this is getting like confession now) went to watch Villa play once in 89/90 when Stoke were utterly abysmal and my thin 12 year-old skin couldn't take anymore of Alan Ball. none of these flirtations lasted long thankfully.

No one! Only Stoke City FC can make a shit day into a good one. I few years back just bought the car I had wanted for ages and crashed it on the way to the first game of the season, no one hurt but a fair bit of damage to the car. Made it to the game and we beat the dingles I was made up even when the misses turned up in the damged car I was still happy. No other team could do that

Well the reason I support Stoke is because I'm family of someone who used to play for us. He started at Man Citeh and Blackburn, so I'd probably go for Rovers.
