The team Tony picks tomorrow must be the right one! On to many occassions away from home last season he picked the wrong starting line up and Stoke ended up chasing games from behind that were winable. Bolton, Villa and Newcastle away are prime examples.
Tomorrow I would like to see us line up with a positive formation and go to attack them rather than sit back. Lawrence must come straight back into the team to give us some width and good delivery, I also think Tuncay should be thrown in, the perfect game for him to make his mark and the type of team he could open up! Etherington has not played well enough so far to warrant a return to the starting 11. I think Tony will be unlikely to drop Huth possibly try him at left back? Or push Abdy into midfield?
My team would be:
Sorenson
Wilko Shawcross Abdoualye Huth
Lawrence Whelan Delap Tuncay
Fuller Kitson
Simonsen Collins Higginbotham Etherington Whitehead Pugh Beattie

I agree with that team save that it sounds like they are preparing to rest Ryan with his tendonitis, so Huth starts in the middle and it is a battle of the Dannys for left back.

Denis Smith seems to be edging towards Huth on the bench (I really can't see that) www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/sport/Stoke-City-change-Potters/article-1348795-detail/article.htmlwww.teamtalk.com/football/yoursay/0,19082,1805,00.html Homzy on teamtalk is going with: Sorensen; Wilko, Huth, Faye, Collins; Lawrence, Whelan, Whitehead, Delap; Kitson, Fuller. Subs: Tuncay, Simonsen, Shawcross, Etherington, Pugh, Higginbotham, Am Faye. www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/sport/Stoke-City-Potters-team-changed-12-months/article-1348796-detail/article.htmlAnd the Sentinel's 'probable team' is Stoke (Sept 19, 2009) Probable: Sorensen, Wilkinson, AB Faye, Shawcross, Collins, Lawrence, Whelan, Whitehead, Delap, Kitson, Fuller. Subs: Etherington, Beattie, Higginbotham, Huth, Simonsen, Tuncay, Pugh. Interestingly, the consensus, oddly, seems to be Whitehead continuing in the middle with Delap playing wide again.

I'd lean towards Danny H as you know what you are going to get with him and he is familiar with the team formation etc., but Tone has obviously bought Danny C to play him and chose him last week. I need to see more of him, not when facing the lightning quick Bosingwa as a wing back, to judge if he is a better option than Higgy on a longer term basis. I also think those in the know may be correct with Delap at left midfield away from home - sounds like a typical Pulis decision to me: safety first (that's not a criticism before a rimmer starts on me!! ). It seems he still may not be sure what to make of Tuncay, or where to play him.

Only 2 of our more attacking players on the bench, things are looking up! ;D

Fookin good to have options though eh? Resting Ryan would have been unthinkable last Season.
I think Danny C gives us more of an outlet at LB, and I'd start with Matty wide left, Tuncay to come on when needed.
Sorro, Wilko, Abdy, Huth, Danny C, Lenny, Glenn, Rory, Matty, Rick and Kit's
Let's have em!!
