I know the words to the song. But I've never heard it sung only being a young whipper snapper. What tune is it to?

As I lie down dying in the Boothen Blood comes spurting from my head As I lay down dying in the Boothen These were the last words I said Won't you bury me under the Boothen Won't you bury me under the sun Wo'nt you bury me under Loek ursem Then my duty to city is done I know the tune but can't think where it comes from originally! I think it might be 'Sing Hosanna'ish

As the Stokie Lay dying on the terraces With the blood pouring out from his head
As the Stokie laid dying on the terraces These are the last words he said
Will you bury me under the Boothen Will you bury me under there son
Please bury me under the Boothen Now that my duty to football is done.
Well that's how I remember it and I'm quite old for a young bloke

I know the words to the song. But I've never heard it sung only being a young whipper snapper. What tune is it to? I think, seriously, that the tune was the regimental song of the 16th/5th. Queens Royal Lancers. (Not my old regiment)now amalgamated with the 17th/21st (My own regiment). Lancers, to become our (Staffs)county cavalry regiment The Queens Royal Lancers. The song was called, Stable Jacket. If I'm wrong, I'm sure there is some old 16th/5th wallah out there will correct me. It was also used to an old Australian folk son, too. Here, I'll hum it. Mmmmm-mmmm-mmmm, mmmm-mmmmm!, that's the one!

I only heard it sung a few times probably late 70s but the Loek Ursem version was always the one I heard. The bread song was weird but funny as was the one banana two banana three banana four song! And also round about the time I first time I heard Delilah was the 'give me a home where the Buffalo roam' song

the 'Banana Splits' tune is classic when sung by various Euro teams' fans. can we get it going (with suitable words) at Stoke.
The "na, na,na - na, na, na, na" chorus is simply genius, Brian.

If I should fall on some far distant terrace With the blood pouring out of my head Will you carry me away from where I’ve fallen Home where I belong Will you bury me under the Boothen Will you bury me under the sun Will you bury me under the Boothen Home where I belong That's the version I know and that's going back more years than I care to remember In Dublins fair city where the girls are all pretty I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone as she wheeled her wheel barrow through streets broad and narrow singing City, Stoke City alive alive-oh alive alive-oh, alive alive-oh Stoke City, my City alive alive-oh
