It's come at least a year too early for Vale.

A promising start to something that should grow over the years.

With the lopsided power in football its about bloody time but too little to late imo.
I think the money coming into the Prem should be much more evenly distributed and then clubs should be forced to run more prudently.
If 60% was kept for Prem clubs and the other 40% divided between the rest (championship 20% div 1 10% div 2 6% non league 4%) it would at least even the field a little bit but would still be heavily favouring the top league

About fucking time.
While they're at it they should give some of the struggling but absolutely tremendous football clubs and fans for example stanley and stockport the £300K or so (pennies) they need just to keep doing what they love. Whereas players like Lampard, Cole and Terry are earning that money within a month.

PATHETIC...!
A BLOODY DISGRACE.
If this is how the Premier league think they'll improve their public image then they're completely wrong. This is Grass roots football where many young stars of the future start off their careers....and all the Premier league are prepared to give is £1 million.

Does everyone only play the game for money now?

Does everyone only play the game for money now? No, still a lot of people enjoying it for the pleasure and fitness it gives. Northwich are still under a transfer embargo as their latest CVA got thrown out by the tax man this week. Chance of a cup upset coming up in the 2nd qualifying round?

It's about £15,000 per club I believe.
As people say above, if it is a starting point then it is a good gesture. If it is a one-off gesture then it is piss poor.
Only time will tell I suppose.

They should give £1million to each of the clubs in the Football League and the Conference... Except Vale, of course.
