if this happened, the expression on Wenger's face reacting to it would be priceless very unlikely though

roro and knowlesy aren't bullshitters.
So let's see.
Maybe Coatesy sees this as our sit-up-and-take-notice signing to put us on the map.
Only got 1 yr left on his deal in Italy and says he want to play in America next season, so he's clearly winding down.
No doubt it'd be an unfeasibly expensive deal, in terms of wages, for a short-term deal for a 33-year-old.

This would be one of the best if not THE best ever signing for our football club - he is Seneglese born so not out of the question...

I really, really don't think this will happen but it seems weird that I've been told the same thing. Would be a quite incredible coup if it came off.

Oddly he was the first name to enter my mind when reading of DV's surprise signing.
I suppose we might squeeze one good year out of him and he can teach Diego the tricks of the trade.

Him and Amdy and Diao can have a little clique of aged defensive midfielders.
Vieira has been told he's got to play regularly if he's going to captain france in the summer, however i'd still expect his chances would be better playing in Italy than for Stoke.
If the world cup is less of a priority for him than coaching then maybe he'd consider us, but like 90% of footballers say, play as long as you can at as high a level as you can - there ain't no higher than the world cup.
