I know to play in Europe is the dream, but you really need to have a strong squad to do this and compete in the PL aswell.
Watching Villa vs Fulham, players injured / tired and the ones on the pitch seem V tired too.

I wonder what kind of a team we'd put out if we managed to qualify for Europe, given our attitude to the cups?

How much money is given to QF for this Europa? Don't get me wrong I would love Stoke to play in Europe (and I don't think it's too unrealistic in the next few years) but we need a strong squad if we'd want to compete and stay in the PL.

The money paid to the teams who qualify for the europa league is a meagre pittance, I think in terms of financial reward the FA cup is more lucrative in terms of finances. Obviously qualifying shows your team is one of the better around, not just better off financially. The gap in finances between CL tv revenue and europa league is on par with the gap between the premiership and championship.

So in reality we'd be better off just finishing outside the Europa spots, as we'd risk greater injury / tiredness with the team.

People really have short memories. Im sure it was round about this time last season that Hull City & all associated were having exactly the same thoughts/discussion. Things begining to look a little bit similiar with this talk. As said on another posted thread there's another 33 pts to go to avoid the big drop.

Thing is, we make a joke out of it. Dull City actually believe they can win the prem.
