He won it once, not twice. So has Abdoulaye point being? If he has won the player of the year at a club like sunderland whose fans on the whole want the same from their team as we want he'll do for me. I stress the point in the original post mate. Sunderland were appalling last year.

I will hold my hands up and probably i have only seen this guy live at sunderlands visit to stoke and one away game in the championship. There were and still are a lot of sunderlands players who Stoke would like to have and i would say if he has come out on top of that lot cisse kenwyne jones included he cant be that bad

However, Danny was our best player in those two Premiership seasons and WILL be a good signing for you or any other Premiership team he may go to.

For a player of the year, isn't the extent to which he divides their fans, and the fact that Bruce is happy enough to get rid despite Sunderland's defence being their weak spot, a bit worrying?

I cannot believe you lot - Tony Pulis makes 2 of the best signings in the clubs recent history, he then makes a decision to bring in another from another prem club a day or so later and some on here start calling the player and questioning Pulis for the decision. I know in who I trust! For those I suggest you get out of your small time club mentally, we need quality cover and players challenging each other for places in the team. We have a steady first team which is great, but looking beyond that we don't have much more! To start to knock a player (if he comes) before he has even kicked a ball for us about sums some on here up! I hope he does come, puts pressure on the incumbents and makes us a stronger and better side. Good comment, similar to one I made yesterday and true, we do need quality back up judging by what we fielded at Leyton Orient. It was pretty painful to watch at times.

Why are a team with a very poor defensive record willing to sell one of their most experienced defenders ???

He hasn't won it twice, he won it once, last season, which given how abortively bad Sunderland were last year is on a par with winning a beauty pageant in a burns unit. ;D ;D why are we buying more sunderland gash. from the sublime to the rediculous. As normal stokies running a guy down before he`s had chance to put the fuckin shirt on do you get to see collins every week? or is it just a few minutes on match of the day? shakes head in disbelief.

I'm sure he is a good lad but we are buying another centre half when we really need a proper full back or two, nowt aginst him , just think we should get full backs , unless Ryan is going then he is good cover

What is this "he won it two years on the bounce" bollocks?
Who gives a flying fuck whether he won the International Award for Left-Backing, fact is we need a player who can pass the half-way line and still look a decent player. Against sides who park the bus it is important our fullbacks offer some attacking assistance - Collins is not someone who can.

Of course, Mr Collins will get my full support when he signs, but I reserve the right to an opinion rather than mindlessly assuming because Tone wants him he'll be good. I know you can empathise mate

We need to get two full-backs that can pass the ball and get service through to the likes of Tuncay. I'm sorry but Higgy should be renamed Hoofingbotham...Collins must be better than this!!!

I agree it's effective, but we need to progress. My point is that it's great signing players like Tuncay but pointless if it's a long ball everytime from full-back.

Higgy is shite, if this Collins lad can play LB let's get him in! You don't get player of the year 2 seasons on the bounce for sweet F.A. Higgi aint shite, in fact i believe he's having a decent season, Mr independable.

SAFC fans told us Rory and Liam were crap as well and Sorro was past it.
I don't think they've had a good manager for a while.

But the question has got to be asked, he has been our most experienced defender, and our defending hasn't been too good. Theres a fallacy in there somewhere. I'll always stick by Danny, he's ran through brick walls for this club, but we are upgrading our defence, and so are you, as Danny is better then Higgy, if thats who he is displacing.

SAFC fans told us Rory and Liam were crap as well and Sorro was past it. Without wishing to be rude, none of them would get in our team, and Tommy was a legend here, until he deserted. I don't think they've had a good manager for a while. This is true, times they are a changing though.

No disrespect to you but you were shit last season and only survived because the 3 teams below you were utter garbage. Judging on last seasons form (over a whole season) our whole team would displace yours - so with that now clear I think you should shut the fuck up.

We need a full back that just plays full back and plays full back really well. Not some clod hopper who is a clone of Higgi.

That's unlikely, as i'm typing on a messageboard, you gibbering fucking ****.
