I think Ryan will stay but we may see him moved to full back or even Abdy pushed into midfield....I would have thought Huth would have discussed this b4 signing as he wants to play games to try and force his way into the German world cup squad.....Plus other clubs were sniffing round him as well....

I think Huth is a great centre back, however there's no way on gods earth he's coming here to sit on the bench.
The only way it works for me is if Abdy is moving into midifield (and I'm not really sure how I feel about that to tell you the truth).
In all honesty, I'm not certain that I wouldn't rather see Ryan sold for big money now than see him be a regular starter at right back.

I agree that it is difficult to see where he fits into the team unless Ryan goes which I hope doesn't happen. Huth won't want to be sitting on our bench.
We played Shawcross at right back against Blackburn away to accommodate Sonko at centre back and look what happened there so don't think that will work. Think that Abdoulaye in midfield might work. Worth a try.

It gives an option of freeing Abdy up to play the Salif role (which I think he can do brilliantly), then drop back to cover. That's really exciting for me. And it gives the option of playing three quality centre backs on occasion. And let's face it, Leon and Sonko are barely Prem quality, one or both need to move on.

The possibility of us starting away matches with the diamond formation in midfield looks ever more likely with just these two signings.... Abdoulaye in midfield is the answer to this. Sign one good defender and move Abdoulaye into midfield, sorts out our defense and midfield at the same time, good move.
Abdoulaye is a brilliant defender but what a player to take over the Salif Diao role, no comparison in players but he is made for this position as he wil stop anything getting through to our defenders and can use his skill and passing ability as well.
Abdoulaye can play anywhere ! That's what he said to Tony Pulis anyway and he listened !

Liam/Deano/Rory/Ethers
Tuncay
Fuller/Kitson (pending BT return)
Replace DM players with the South American connected player if it goes through + new striker etc.
Too attacking for TP me thinks, reading it again, cant see how he would go with it but you never know. Dont think Higgy/Wilko have done anything too much to deserve to be dropped (other than not being German Internationals) but one way to fit them in?

One of me mates is a HUGE Bolton fan and he has always raved about Abdy playing that midfield role, better than centre half he insists, conner wait, with Ryan and Huth behind him if anything gets past not going to concede too many( especially with Sorro behind them ;D ) defence looks nearly sorted down the centre. Full backs, some way to go but we play a system that may allow teams to get past the full backs and then cross into the land of giants where we win nearly everything ;D. We are in my opinion in need of a QUALITY midfield general, Abdy will do fine at the back, Tuncy will be the quality up front not sure about Wheelan, he could come into that role but all other positions have competition. Guess where the next transfer position may be for  , |

I suspect we may have to ask the FA if we can field 12 players to make room for everyone, this would mean we might have to make the pitch bigger which would put Rorys role in question...
