We dominated todays game without forcing Hart into a save worthy of the name, and whilst I have my concerns about our team, I am not particularly worried.
I have seen enough from our first 3 games to believe that Birmingham and Burnley will both finish below us this season, but I am concerned by the number of poorer sides in the Premier League, us included, as we obviously lack the quality to break these teams down.
Whelan was shocking today, and clearly isn't good enough to do the job we need him to do against the poorer sides in the division, Lawrence has ability but no pace whatsoever which makes him particularly useless against teams like Brum and Etherington just seems to be absent in body and mind.
This window is a key for us and for all the criticism I have read tonight about our full-backs, it is absolutely imperative that we sign a decent midfielder or two and another centre forward with some pace.
Without them, although we will survive, I think it will be more of a struggle than it was last year.

Agreed. We were very wasteful in the final third and lacked variety at times, several long balls from Higgy to Kitson, and despite Kitson having a good game, I still believe he doesn't win anywhere near as many headers as he should. Fuller looked sharp at times but was guilty of doing too much at times. The one positive from the season so far is that we have played fairly poorly in all three games so far, yet accumulated 4 points and kept two clean sheets.

AND: Have taken 4 points out of 6 against those we need to do better than.

I'm a bit worried. Being unable to finish a side as poor as Brum off is a concern.

I think 4 points from the three games so far is about par. Considering the lack of transfer activity and the fact that so many of our players are simply out of form, par will do for me for now.

The 3 points against Burnley looks much better now doesn't it?

Not concerned about the points haul. But am concerned about the lack of variation in our play and being unable to try anything different to score a goal. On Saturday we kept the ball alot better at the back and that was pleasing. BUT to get chances we resorted to the long balls in the mixer hoping something would drop. And thats a against a side who must be our easiest chance to win an away game.

I am a little concerned about our increasing lack of finishing. I don't care how or where the goals come from as long as we can get them in.
Fresh faces with some skill will do us the world of good.
