Leicester City have been told they are not good enough to sign teenage Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair on loan. Foxes boss Ian Holloway was eager to bring the 18-year-old to the Walkers Stadium and thought he was on the verge of getting his man.
But Holloway told BBC Radio Leicester: "We have now been told we can't have him. Chelsea do not want to let him go to a team that's where we are.
"There's one struck off that we had half-planned and half-promised."
Sinclair is back at Stamford Bridge after a loan spell at QPR but has fallen down the pecking order following Florent Malouda's return to fitness.
Holloway thought he had a good chance of landing the England youth international but has been told they want him to play for a side near the top of the Championship table.
He added: "If they do loan him out they want to loan him to a club with a chance of getting in the play-offs because they want him to experience that."
Holloway was also previously manager of Bristol Rovers, from whom Sinclair joined the Premier League giants in July 2005.
Would be a fantastic signing if we could get him!

Im pretty sure Stoke will have someone who will be able to check the BBC website! And if Chelsea were willing to let him out on loan to a higher placed Championship club- surely Chelsea would have offered him to Stoke!

Trouble is, if Chelsea want him to experience the playoffs, they may not be too happy sending him to a club in with a good chance of getting auto promotion!

True Forny, but as we're not yet even guaranteed a play-off spot yet, I dare say they'd be prepared to risk it!

Trouble is, if Chelsea want him to experience the playoffs, they may not be too happy sending him to a club in with a good chance of getting auto promotion! We shall reword the above Mr Forskin,"that are going to get automatic promotion".

If we are to believe it, the urban myth claims that TP didn't know that Cressy was leaving / available from leeds until he got a call that he failed a medical at Hull.

Go get him, Tone! FM:
you gave me a right threadful the other day for suggesting him ! "Not a target man", "We've got Gally" etc, etc.
Gald you've changed your tune though, think he would be class
But yes, it would piss off Gally big time.

rsb - I'd love any of the Moores, Sinclairs etc to come. The more the merrier! ;D
I've just got my doubts where they'd fit in, from Pulis' perspective or their own, despite the fact they're obviously great talents, given that we all seem to agree that Fuller and Mama are nailed-on starters.
Can't see 'em coming for the bench and the odd fill-in when Ricci's banned
And if Sinclair came and played wide left, as you say, it'd piss Gally right off - and leave one of Delap/Gally/Cresswell completely out in the cold - leaving us with great attacking depth and variety for the run-in but probably a less united squad?

See your point but it seems Chelsea have made it pretty obvious they would be willing to let him go out on loan! I'll send an email just in case though! ;D

Yeah, the papers did seem to say he was definitely off to Charlton last week, didn't they?
Maybe they're just waiting for the 93-day thing to kick in before announcing it?
