After todays match, who do we need more. Ashton,a player who reckons he deserves £50,000 a week whether he plays or not,or Kitson, aplayer who seems determined to show that Stoke weren,t wrong to sign him. Personally I think Kitson showed today what a good player he can be for us. A new signing without spending cash. As for Ashton ,fuck off you money grabbing wank stain!!!

with kitson apparently reformed, i'd rather us crack out coates' mystery sacks for a real pacey striker, vaughn for the future could be a good shout, but no one who we'd be able to attract springs to mind.

The point I was trying to make was do we need to be held to ransom by Ashton when Kitson is prepared to fight for the team!!

Same here - if Ashton had wanted to come he wouldn't have messed us about so much.- don't want him at Stoke now. Kitson for me !

The point I was trying to make was do we need to be held to ransom by Ashton when Kitson is prepared to fight for the team!! spot on that! hes rolled his sleeves up and decided give it a go, its took some guts after last year so fair play to him, tell ashton piss off, he prefers rot in reserves rather than play football and get into that england squad.

its an interseting one, i wonder how ashton would feel about coming on and playing in midfield, especially when good old cresser is allowed to have his own way up front.
i'm begining to understand why we can't attract players, and its nowt to do with wages.

Ashton is a better player.
If fully fit, I would have him with Rooney for England every time. Seriously.

If Ashton wasn't injured then he'd be a fantastic player to have. Unfortunately he is injury prone and the question for us is he worth the gamble? Personally i'd rather go after a pacy striker who can be a foil to Fuller. Kitson and Beattie are pretty similar and I think we need some back up to Fuller! If Ashton did sign though i'd be very happy with that.

I think this depends on how much money we really have to spend. If its all going on Ashton then I would prefer Kitson and spend it on quality RB and creative CM. Just think what Fuller, Beattie and Kitson could do with the right supply.

IF IF IF he's fit, Ashton is England's best striker. Period.
(and why can't we have 'em both?)

Neither.
If Pulis fully intends to stick with the long ball with one striker expected to perform the 'Mama role' then he needs to think about somebody else completely.
IMHO neither Beattie, Kitson or Ashton are going to particularly happy or indeed particularly successful when asked to play this position.

what we really need is mama back
fit and ready to fight for his position
stokes system really works around sidibe and his abillity to bring the ball down hold it up and play another striker through on goal
end off!!!

Thought Kits was alright today. Can't remember Beattie playing. Ashton would be nice, but it ain't going to happen, so let's move our thoughts onto getting another striker.

Nice mini stepover to create his shot on goal and great to see the fans getting behind him I can see a new Kitson this year. It will be like signing a new player.

Has anyone else rushed in to sign Ashton? No not even Hull, so that tells you all you need to know. I fail to see how Mama can get into the side once fit, but then I am conpletely gobsmacked every time I see Cresser come of the bench for his usual ineffective 10-15 mins. I thought that Kitson looked determined to put last season behind him, what a f.cking pity that shot didn't go in off the bar, it was just the boost he needs, but it will come.

A straight choice then have Kitson. The club cant afford at this stage in the developement of the club as a whole, to be paying what would be good money (tranfer fee/wages etc) on 1 player who medically/physically you wont be sure will remain fit enough for half, 2/3rd of the season. Bit like filling yr car up with petrol then puncturing a small hole in the fuel tank for the fuel to slowly drain-out. Save the money for someone more reliable.
