Anyone remember that night at the Abbey.Worst weather ever at a stoke city game surely, and it was a open terrace.

Remember it well, pissing down all day, most games called off and standing in a shitty away end with no roof. Mar mate had a massive tarporlin flag which covered us up for most of the game.
Got on the piss on the way back at some country pub and one of the lads did a stirring rendition of Sugar Baby Love by The Rubettes.............. Happy Days ;D ;D

Chesterfield, didn't Hoekstra score the winner? If I remember rightly it stopped raining right after the game. Other rainy affairs: Blackpool (FA Cup) (approx 6 years ago) & Walsall league (4-2).

Getting drenched was bad enough, but them getting a last minute equaliser was a real kick in the sensitive parts. Also the coach i was travelling home on had a brick through the window, the police would not let us continue so we had to wait for a replacement. The joys of being a stokie

Blackpool away was one of Megsons last games in charge nearly 10 years ago! How time flies....they were using the lower bit of the Spion kop.

We've discussed it befopre Stenny! Yes indeed it was soaking wet. I don't want to be pedantic but it was 1992!

Blackpool away in Macari's promotion season, properly pissing down, Stoke fans invading the pitch from behind the goal, and fighting with more Stoke fans in the covered paddock, and a mental "lets all have a disco" when Rooster Russell scored. Oh, and to top it off, some bouncer tried to stop a coach load of Stoke from getting in a pub on the promenade, so they tied him to a lampost outside and left him in the rain while they laughed at him with a pint from inside the pub.

I laughed out loud at Scouse's post! ;D
I was there, day after my 12th birthday, that was the present I'd asked for off my grandad, to get out of school early and go to that game.
He drives that slow I had to have the whole day off so we got there in time!
Ah, memories. As Mark and Lard used to say "Wasnt Nostalgia brilliant?"

I was there, but sat in the seats to the left of the away end ;D Drove back to Oxford after the match and my car aqua planed on the Oxford by-pass and smashed into the central reservation I was only doing about 50 as i was coming up to my junction, it was like a river coming down the steep slip road and I just went spinning out of control
