Haven't been able to get on this new site without creating a new account, but this has to be said.
I am a fairly rational person, but I really believe this is our year. The squad is better and full of goals, and Ithink our defence will actually tighten up.
The lessons of last season have been learned, and with Whelan and Gally, as well as Lawrence and Fuller in great form we will have the creativity to break down stubborn sides at home. This is where we blew it last season: Southend, Ipswich, Hull etc.
Add to that our unbelievable set piece fire power, and I think Automatic promotion is on. I too did the BBC table predictor and got Stoke winning the league on 84 points. This included us losing away at Norwich and QPR (form teams?), drawing away at Watford, and drawing at home to Ipswich and Palace.
If we win on Friday, a massive potentially tricky game, we go top on 59 points with both Watford and Bristol having horrible games over the weekend. (Charlton and Palace respectively)
59 points, 13 games to go. 7 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats would give us 25 points on the run in, taking us to 84 points in May. Everybody takes points off everybody else, and I think this would be enough for automatic promotion, maybe to win the league.
I'm 43 in April and have been waiting my entire adult life for this. I honestly never thought I'd see Stoke in the Premiership in my lifetime, but we are on the brink.
Please, Please get your friends to go as much as they can. And if things start to go wrong in any game, let's sing our hearts out, like Tuesday but even more, and really get behind the lads, Come On Stoke, We'll be with you, Delilah whatever, the whole ground, full volume and roar them on.
This is it. We go up now and its a different future for Stoke City. Even if we come back down, we're in the big money, and only those clubs recently relegated with Prem money will ever be able to get out of the CCC in a few years.
So come on, let's do our bit. Stay positive, really believe it - we are going to do it this time.
Come On Stoke!!

I've never had less interest in the club, frankly. But that's just me. Everyone else appears to be creaming themselves over Setpiece City. I prefer a spot of footy personally. Oh well, each to his own I guess.

okeydokey is technically right - Stoke have never been in the Premiership so he has waited all his life to see us there.

Parksy and Regatta,
My first game was 74 against Leeds when we came back from 2-0 to win 3-2 and end their unbeaten run. Pejic, direct free kick, Hudson running into the box and Smith with a header from a corner I think. Absolutely got the bug for ever.
As a kid we lived in Hartshill and could here the cheer when a goal went in if the wind was right!
I've seen the great players, but I said I have been waiting my ADULT life for us to get back there.
Anyway, it's besides the point. This team is good to watch, and will get better. Still think there's a lot more to come from Salif, (he showed glimpses of his class from last season on Tuesday)Whelan, Ryan and there are times when Ricardo's as exciting as anything I can remember. Worth the money just to see him running at the opposition.
The point is, I think it really is on now. My fear is that the nervousness of the crowd sometimes affects the confidence of the players, and it spirals down. If we stay positive and believe they can turn it around within each match, maybe it will help them.
