I was there on his debut on a midweek match v Hull City when Stoke got a corner and sent on Big Bren as sub....corner comes over and the big man buries it...litterally 2 seconds of the ball being in play!!...i;m sure its a record?

He was as much a victim of the boo boys as any player I have seen at Stoke.
I thought he was a fine player who contributed greatly to our promotion and consolidation in the top flight.

Smashing guy and my first Stoke hero. Remember him hitting a 30 yarder v Newcastle the week before the promotion at Notts County that nearly took the crossbar off.

I always think of the late 'Big Jan' from Sweden when I hear Brendans name, Jan was his biggest fan and had O'Gallaghan on his shirt! Together with scalves tied round each wrist he looked proper retro!! Happy Birthday Brendan and RIP Jan
