On the BBC website today that he is in talks with Boro?!?!?!
IMO a good signing for us. Can't understand why he would want to drop a division. Obviously money is talking.

If the £3m fee is accurate then you'd hope we'd be having a look at him. He's five times the player Whitehead is.

To be honest Pugsley, what I saw of Reo-Coker at the Brit last season, i'm not sure i'd touch him with yours...
In talks with Boro...linked into the Downing deal?

Not sure he's actually in talks, is he?
Isn't it just a very fanciful story linking him with Boro in some kind of Tuncay deal?
There's not a chance in a million years he'd go to Middlesbrough.

He has been a let down at Villa. Against us he played on the right and looked anonymous. He's not a right winger or a right back despite what MON thinks imo!

Fair enough, but lots of people seem to think Whitehead would be a good signing and he was abysmal at the Brit. I think he is part of deal involving Tuncay, but if the lad doesn't want to go?

The whole Sunderland side was abysmal that night - but I take your point. Whitehead I'm not overly keen on either to be frank. If either player signed though, they would get my backing. I think we need something a little different. People are talking about Danny Murphy. I think he would be excellent for us and reachable, given his twighlight years.

when Coker played against Liverpool in the Cup Final he was for me man of the match but since then he's been on the decline. i've got a couple of Hammers at work who reckon he's got a bad attitude but then they would wouldn't they as he left with a bit of bad feeling.

I can't think why we have not had a look at O'neil.I will be staggered if he is playing in the championship next season.

Fulham have a smallish squad and a European campaign aswell as a tough Premier League campaign. Teams have been found out in the past and have had dreadful League form. Would you fancy being a 33 year old, middle of the road Premier League player (assuming their League Form suffers) out of contract and looking for a club? Or would you take a hit a year earlier and look upon a lower Premier League team who will give you a few extra years (and maybe a player coaching role?) and all of the security that comes with it?

I can just about see a scenario for Murphy.
Hodgson thinks he's 'on the turn' and won't offer him extended deal beyond 2010. Hodgson thinks this summer is the perfect time to sell him for a decent sum just before he enters the last year of his deal while his star is in the ascendancy. Hodgson buys Greening as slightly younger replacement. Pulis is desperate for a touch of class and is willing to offer Murphy a very generous 2 or 3 year contract which Murphy may find it hard to say no to, with all the security it brings at his age etc etc. There may even be a coaching element. A move north may appeal, even though his wife's a southern actress type Steve Holland has a word in Murphy's shell-like, mentions Ashton etc.

Still seems unlikely - there's a lot of twists and assumptions being made to try and get around to the situation where he might join us.
You'd think another season as captain of a Europa league team would put him in a very strong position in the shop window as far as regards finding a club if his contract isn't renewed.
Plus his wife is from London.

True. But it's possible to paint a scenario where it could happen.
If Hodgson is happy with him and sees him being integral for another 2-3 years and he's happy there, the chances are 0%.
But I suppose there's always a lot of the puzzle obscured from view that we've got to guess at.
Murphy could be unhappy for a whole host of reasons or Hodgson could be thinking Murphy's legs are going .
If either of these things are true, a phone call from Pulis offering a certain figure could be very well received.
And, at Murphy's age, a 3-year deal could tick a lot of boxes for him if Hodgson isn't wiling to commit beyond next summer.

Didn't McCleish say he was deterred from moving for him because he couldn't see why he'd leave? Dave has intimated something similar as well hasn't he?

Reo-Coker looked a cracking player a couple of years ago, and one that could dominate the midfield. We need someone who can dominate the midfield, but his confidence has been shot since the West Ham fans turned on him. A shame, but there are plenty better propositions around.

Reo-Coker was cack last season. So O'Neill played him full back for a bit. And he was cack there too.

reo coker has the attributes of what we need in midfield, some pace, physical build and cover lots of ground. our midfield isnt getting younger, diao and delap are 32/33, amdy faye is turned 30.
