Who is better? Discuss. Roses for me, but it's tough, and more of a realistic comparison than the Smiths v Roses poll.

not really tough, mondays had a few good songs as did black grape but nothing long lasting to be honest the charlatans and the inspiral carpets were a lot better but have not spent as much time in rehab your just upset because my poll was better

Happy Mondays signed for Factory Records didn't they...whereas Stone Roses didn't...Tony Wilson turned them down... For me...it's got to be Stone Roses...although love Happy Monday live and used to work with Shaun Riders niece...but prefer Roses music... They took Primal Scream a bit further sort of thing..

Roses all the way, that first lp is such a belter. The mondays were a decent band but don't touch the stone roses for me. The charlatans were quality too back in the day, sproston green. What a tune

This one is tough, both favourites of mine. Id say the roses had more good songs though because a lot of the mondays was junkie ramblings

Love em both but the Roses just edge it. Fools Gold an all time classic tips it. Anyone remember Ride used to love them and the Charlatons. Mark Gardener from Ride was on Soccer AM the other day.

I cant put Stone Roses in the Same Catergory as Happy mondays, Stone Roses, the Smiths, joy Division, New Order and Oasis are the best manchester bands of all time, Happy Mondays I wouldnt have them in my top ten for a couple of good tracks and mainly shite albums apart from pills thrills and belly aches
