What a nice, unassuming guy, and with a very positive outlook on everything that happened in his career. Some players currently with clubs near the top of the Prem (or playing for Real Madrid) could learn alot from players of his generation.

Did he mention coming round to our house in 1971 and playing football in our back garden with me and my brother? He played a blinder getting one in off the patio wall - probably the highlight of his career.

Did he mention a bunch of kids used to sing his name on a Sunday evening when him and John Mahoney used to go to the Catholic church bottom of Hartshill bank.

No & no however, the interview was only just over an hour & the interviewer kept hurrying him on to the next subject. Maybe if he follows in Denis's footsteps & does an autobiography he will mention both events

Got a very nice niece aswell, bit of a stunner at the time. Met her 1994 and 95 here in Limassol, came to my pub every night and we went out afterwards. Goodtimes

What a guy. Invited me and my dad and uncle around to his mum's house after a match (i was 9), and gave us a puppy!!! Can you imagine many of today's premiership players doing that!
