I'm wondering if anyone can help me? My good mate unfortunately had his beloved '72 plate broken by a drunken reveller at his birthday party (not me I hasten to add) He is very upset as the plate was given to him by a now deceased relative and he was actually in tears at the time, the soppy sod. Does anyone have a spare plate or know where I can get one from? - I'll be willing to pay the going rate of course. Come on you lovely people - can you come to the aid of a stricken Stokie? I've put a couple of pictures of the plate itself below - Don't look if you are easily upset!

To be fair that's easily repairable - had similar happen with a plate (not a Stoke one but a quite valuable one) and you wouldn't know the difference if you can find the right person . The chip out of the bottom- do you still have the piece?
The one I had was one of only 50 and was gutted- you wouldn't know the difference now- found someone on the net a few years back. Sorry no idea who
If you can't get a replacement worth a go. Harry Burrows had one of those in his pub in Scholar Green above the bar.

I do but it was left to me by my Grandad, sorry to get your hopes up as i'd be reluctant to part with it. It was really out of interest i wanted to know what the going rate was.

I bought the very same plate off ebay about 2 years ago(as a one piece) for about £50.00 and have seen them on there since.Would suggest you keep looking on there I am sure one will turn up.They are not that rare. Have also seen them for sale in the sentinel.

Used to stand just to the side of Banks' head, right by the barrier on "the big step".

I wouldnt describe the culprit as a reveller.

That plate looks fixable, put probably better to take it to a china repair shop rather than do a DIY job.

It was the 70's - when men were men etc... What about the state of the Stand?? That is the proper Stoke end that is. to us oldies anyway. there were ways to gain "access" from Butler street alleyway, followed by a scramble up to the top of the hill, when I were a nipper. ;D happy days pissed wet through and a yellow river from the bogs under the floodlight.
