A little dissapointed would have been good backup. Are there any more decent British strikers left now? I have a feeling we may end up getting one from abroad. I cant think of any others other than Ashton I'd want in the English game. Any one got any ideas?

No great loss. I wonder if Reading would be interested in Kitson and a bit of cash for Hunt instead? EDIT: Fook off Bayern, stupid idea! ;D

If we keep Kitson then so be it we'll just have to get behind him. He has once had "it" so what's to say with some early goals and confidence he might be back to being the player that he was a couple of years ago.

Even if we were in for him, they always looked more attractive due to the amount of pretty nailed-on first-team football on offer there.

My view, for what it's worth;
Teams that get promoted from the Championship know they have a fair chance of getting relegated. They also know they can attract the better Championship players, as they have Premiership status - if only for a season. So just as TP did last summer, promoted clubs will move for the better Championship players in the hope that they are able to help with Premiership survival, alternatively, they go down, and the team have players proven to be more than capable at Championship level. And if the club do go down, and the player(s) in question have shown they are Prem' quality, then the player gets a move to another Prem club, and the team recoup at least their initial investment - simples!! Getting back to the subject... Doyle shows something like and keeps the dingles up - Wolves are winners Doyle shows something like, but the dingles get relegated - Bolton, Sunderland, Wigan, THE MIGHTY SCFC pick him up for £4m Doyle is sh1te, the dingles go down, TP tells Coates he was right again!!!!!!

On paper, Doyle and Ebanks-Blake is a decent forward line for a club like Wolves (and with Iwelumo and Keogh on the bench).
That's 4 strikers better than the strikers that WBA started the season with last season (Bednar, Miller, Craig Beattie and Moore)

("He's off again!!")
To me, the big difference between the Championship and the Prem' is that in the former, players can score 1 in 5 and be considered a quality striker - in the Prem, they will rarely get 5 chances in a match, and need to be scoring 1 in 2, maybe 3.
How many strikers in the Championship could've scored that goal against Man City?

When we got promoted we were told by the powers that be ,that players dont want to come to newley promoted clubs but bloody Birmingham Wolves and Burnley are attracting player we couldn't in our first year up and we dont seem to be attracting them in the second year so far i take it Cisse being one that tp has addmired for a long time and wanted to sign has turned his back on us.I'm certain we have got to change our style of play then we may attract players What do you think tell me am i totally wrong or does anyone agree

When we got promoted we were told by the powers that be ,that players dont want to come to newley promoted clubs but bloody Birmingham Wolves and Burnley are attracting player we couldn't in our first year up and we dont seem to be attracting them in the second year so far i take it Cisse being one that tp has addmired for a long time and wanted to sign has turned his back on us.I'm certain we have got to change our style of play then we may attract players What do you think tell me am i totally wrong or does anyone agree Personally, I would say that you're totally wrong ;D . At the start of last season (not including January), we managed to sign; Dave Kitson - £5.5 mill Olofinjana - £3 mill Sorensen - Free Amdy Faye -Undisc. Abdoulaye Faye - £2.25 mill Andrew davies - Undisc. Sonko - £2 mill Higginbotham - Undisc. Soares - £1.25 mill Tonge - £2 mill. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but what players couldn't we attract that Wolves, Birmingham and Burnley have? . The season before, Dave Kitson had scored 10 goals in a relegated team and was a high-profile signing at the time and one which we all thought would 'rock the city'. Don't forget also though that every player that we signed had already had premiership experience to some extent which therefore gave us an advantage the other promoted teams and indeed some existing ones. To be honest, these signings that I've already stated haven't even included our january signings of Etherington, Beattie, camara and kelly, which I must reiterrate ALL had premiership experience and are quality players for a newly promoted side. Now, tbh, there's plenty of time to get new players in imo and I would rather we take our time getting teh right players in that would improve the first team rather than gambling 8 million or whatever it is on that Cristian benitez or whatever his name is. Oh and Burnley's fantastic signing Tyrone Mears . There's plenty of time yet and i'm sure Pulis has got his good od 'Irons in the fire' . Also, while I'm on a roll, let's not forget that Cisse only seems to be interested in teh big money and indeed European football, hence the move to Panathinikos and tehrefore we wouldn't have had much of a chance with bringing him to Stoke anyways so yeah, it was to be expected imo. Also, with the addition of new quality players, which should be soon if we are to believe the management team, then these new quality players will improve our style of play anyway so if I were you chamaggem, I wouldn't worry about it ;D . There's plenty of time yet and many clubs haven't delved into the market yet either so I wouldn't worry too much atm ;D . GO'ARRRRRN STOKE!! ;D

They can keep him if a figure of £6.5M is being branded about. I'd like us to snatch Obafemi Martins though.

Haven't Wolves only really signed an expensive Reading striker who could go either way, like we did? Who the fuck have Burnley attracted? Tyrone Mears? Jesus, missed the boat with that superstar Don't Panic!

I am not at all convinced about Blake...we shall see though. He Wanks Blake is vastly over-rated not a patch on Fuller or Beattie I used to think that when he was at Plymouth but he's looked awesome at Wolves. Pace, power, top scorer in the division the last two seasons. At least as good as Fraizier Campbell imo. Think he might make it.
