They have nowt to worry about. Boothroyd is a good manager. Proven at that level. IMHO Watford made a mistake sacking him and he'd be a good appointment.
Saying that I'm not taking into account how deluded Brazlians have become.

Have they not had enough of manager dis-loyalty to be getting along with? ???

Qualities to look for in a good manager:
Getting results. Working to a budget. Improving and selling your players for a profit etc etc
But in West Broms eyes, the qualities to look for in a manager are:
Playing good football!!!! The tits

Last night Albion fans on the club’s unofficial internet message boards suggested they would be happy to have Boothroyd as Mowbray’s successor.
One wrote: “Boothroyd is an English manager who worked wonders before with the limited resources he had at his disposal at Watford.”
Another commented: “Boothroyd would be a great manager. He is young and dynamic and has plenty to offer in the game.
‘‘We can ill afford to be compensating other clubs for managers and he is ready to start soon which is what we want so new can plan our passage back to the Premiership.”
Some fine cherry picking by the brum mail there ;D

I can't believe that more Baggies in that poll thought Shearer should be their new manager than Boothroyd. Have they gone insane?

It's one things the West Brazil fans swallowing the 'total football' arguement what with the blind loyalty of football fans.
It's a complete other that a well-run, professional outfit like Celtic should fall for it. That's where the real stupidity lies.

Just an idea, those Brazil fans are planning to bombard that email address, 'enquiries@wbafc.co.uk', with emails telling the board that they will boycott the club etc if they hire Bothroyd.
Anybody else fancy a bit of trolling and sending emails to that address saying how delighted we are, as lifelong Albion supporters, to finally be in the market for such a fine, young, local man?

It worked for WBA in the championship, i'm sure it can work for celtic in the SPL against poorer defences than the premiership.

But you could put Kamara in charge of Celtic and he'd get them in the top two. Where he's really going to be judged is in Europe. And I can't see him doing too well trying to play some of Europe's biggest names off the park.

True, but they're never going to get any further than the last 16 of europe realistically, winning the league repeatedly is the real aim - celtic probably expect Mowbray to swashbuckle his way to the top of the scottish league with his purist football. That's what he needs to do to be deemed successful - the fact it is celtic just means that no-one is really going to be lauding mowbray as the new arsene wenger if he does so.

I think Mowbray's a better manager than many of you give him credit for. He got West Brom playing attractive passing football. Whilst it may have been naive in the Premier League against the top sides, it served them well in the Championship the season before last. If I was a Brazilian I'd be wanting someone who played decent football.

Jimbo: If I was a Brazilian I would want a manager that gets results.
I actually agree with you about Mowbray and Celtic. The Scottish Premier is less competative than the CCC and, for me, he only has to compete with ONE club. That club have an ageing and pretty 'ordinary' bunch of players and I think Celtic will win that league next season with ease. It is a smart (though totally disloyal and dispicable) move by Mowbray as he would be successful with Brazil ONLY if he got them back up (no easy task). He can hardly fail at Celtic in my view as they need only to improve by one place and Rangers are 'Cack' in my opinion.

If I was a Brazilian I'd be wanting someone who played decent football. With the players and money available, Katie Price would have gotten Brazil promotion from the Fizzy Pop league. As soon as Moanbray faced a real challenge, he failed miserably If Celtic fans thought John Barnes was bad, they ain't seen nothing yet!!

They thought Barnes was bad because he WAS. Mowbray has been pretty successful so far in his managerial career, blemished only by his 'pig-headed stubbornness' last season. He's moved on to, what I consider, to be a much easier job and I'm guessing he'll be successful in overhauling Rangers, who I think are crap. He won't have to improve celtic much to make them better than last season and out-footballing the mugs they're up against week to week should be a piece of piss. For making a success of a piss-easy job, he'll probably go on to become some kind of Scottish God! Stoke would walk that league (and I'm being serious!).

The real test of Mowbray will be what he can do in the Champions League. Winning the league is surely a given, considering Celtic's resources and that Rangers aren't that good. He'll play attacking football and steamroller many of the weak sides. Considering the lack of opposition, he's a good appointment because he'll do the same as Strachan but with better football.
I accept the point that he had money to spend at West Brom in the Championship. But he wasn't really backed in the Premier League. He'll have to be more astute in Europe as if he tries to play like he did against the top sides last season he'll struggle. If I was a West Brom fan I'd be quite disapointed with the lack of loyalty considering their fans backed him and his philosphy when it would have been easy to turn on him.
Surely a better test of his ability would be to continue at West Brom, get promoted and keep them up.

I think Boothroyd is a decent manager but it would be very amusing if he went there after all the bullshit that has come out of Rio de Smethwick over the years. I used to have a lot of time for the Baggies as a club, but the deluded idiots who follow them have tainted any respect I had over the last couple of years. What goes around comes around, however if he goes there and they start playing some proper football instead of that bollocks they attempted last season they may have some success and I guarantee you none of them will be moaning (although many will be in denial of their style.)
