Its about time we had a pinned thread about The Vic.
Still can't believe its a dozen years since we left our beloved Temple of all things Red n White.
I'm going to hunt out some old pictures and scan them in, in the mean time, leave yours below

I remember my first ever match when I was I think four years old and being completely bemused, having no idea what was going on.

i remember standing behind the goal in the old stoke end(as shown in craigwally's pic) against everton in my first ever game. the match ended 1-1, with big john ritchie scoring from a penalty, if my memory serves me correct. i think it was 1970.

My memories of The Vic are unusual ones. You have to remember, I came back to England from 89-92 after being away for a long time, and well, it wasn't Stoke's greatest years.
The sit in after we lost to Sunderland and getting pinned against the wall by a police horse. I didn't know what was going on! I just started running coz everyone was running.
Many years before, I was on holidays and my Aunty took me to Stoke v Oldham ( I am pretty sure it was Oldham. Around 78-79?), I was 10-11 years old. Walking back to the station the oldham fans( who had lost) lit a huge fire with their scarves and flags, burning them on the footpath. I'd never seen that before.
Picking up a right saucy bird at the Marquis Of Granby while well plastered, taking her to Stoke - Barnsley ( Potters holiday I think), then back to her place for a nightcap. ahem. "ooh, I like your accent" ( and didn't I use it!) 1-1 if I remember.
The 1-1 draw with West ham, first game of the season, McAvennie's leg.
Arsenal in the cup. Nial Quinn scored late. 0-1.

That picture is a spoof, the bloke with his foot up on the bench is wearing a modern football boot, would you please remove it from this serious thread well its clearly the Vic, and fairly obvious that its from the 70s given that some of the players are recognisable beneath the skewiff comedy moustaches, however it adds fuck all to the thread

Craig the bloke in that picture is standing exactly where me and my two brothers used to stand/sit as young kids. Our dad would buy us all a quarter of extra strong mints from the shop and we would get into that spot just after two o'clock and munch our way through them sitting on that very corner crash barrier, waiting for kick off. Thanks for the pick mate.

Didn't start going 'til 1980, the cup tie against coventry is one i'll always remember, the crowds around the ground and the heaving boothen end, also the game against man city when alan ball was in charge for them, what an atmosphere that day, electric.
