Alrate, was playing footy on concrete today, i scored plenty of goals, had a fairly powerful shot and was playing very well.
Then we decided to go on a field since more people came out for a match.
As soon as I started taking shots on a football pitch my shots were absolutely terrible, I could not get much power into the shot at all, and whenever I kicked it the ball not only was going wide it nearly curled out for a fucking throw in!
I am actually a defender but I can't seem to play aswell on grass as I can on 5 a side courts or concrete.
Why is this?
Edit: I am aware I have posted this on the GDB but this is the only board I use because it pisses on all other boards.

what was the differance in foot wear I wore the same trainers as I did when I played on concrete. It might be because i've only been playing football for 2 and a half years and i'm wank but I play well on harder surfaces.

I'd have thought the obvious answer is that on grass you are just not as confident in your footing, on a hard surface you are wearing a shoe that offers sufficient grip, on grass you are not, and as such it effects your confidence

nope! i played as a defender and i think the ball moves far faster on concrete/astro turf than it does on grass, thus giving you less time to react and plan your move, which often results in you showing your potential (as my coach told me ) Use those added seconds on grass to assess your next move but don't over analyse it

PS I've only played football about a dozen times in my life, if you want to take my hypothesis fine, but i should warn you I played far more Rugby (NULS 4th XV) and American Football (UNN and UoN Combined team in the BCAFL), and cricket than I played football ;D

Sadly I come from a family who don't like football, I was never introduced to it at a young age. One day my fat arsed brother said he was better than me at football, so because I hate the fat twat so much I accepted his challenge, and won it with flying colours, unfortunately dispite I have improved alot i'm nowhere near as good as others my age, i'm getting there though

Get yourself a pair of football boots for on grass to see if it makes a difference. As it's the end of the football season expect some very cheap prices as sports shops like to get rid of 'winter' stock.
Practice on grass to get used to the different speed and bounce of the ball. Just watch out for dog shit.
