On another post, I have posted about the Premier League being over-rated, and that got me thinking about the best 11 players you could put as a team from the games that I have seen v Stoke this season.
My team would be a surprising one as many of the top players haven't played too well against us so here goes;
Jussi Jaskeleinen (sp?) - Bolton Glenn Johnson - Pompey Figueroa - Wigan Vidic - Manure Hangerland - Fulham Petrov - Villa Gerrard - Liverpool Modric - Spurs Ashley Young - Villa Carew - Villa Defoe - Spurs
I was also impressed with a couple of West Ham players, Kevin Davies and thought Laursen was mightily impressive for Villa. It is a big loss for them that he has been forced to retire.

Not impressed by Lampard at all. He isn't a proper midfield player and cheats a bit for me...not in the diving sense, but he doesn't do the midfield role like a midfielder. He practically plays as a centre forward
Essien is a million times better than fat Frank and on the day, I thought Boswinga and Mikel were Chelsea's best player at the Brit.
I missed the Boro game, but my pals liked Tuncay.

If its just players that I've seen AT Stoke this season, then Bullard has to be up there with them for me.

Not necessarily at the Brit, but away as well. Robinho was top class at City but was so bad at the Brit that it was impossible to consider him.
Much the same could be said for messr's Ronaldo and Rooney, although I thought Ronaldo (save for his two free-kicks) was pretty shocking in both games v Stoke.

I was thinking more about players rather than teams Edo, but Chelsea were certainly the most comfortable winners at the Brit. I also thought Everton and West Ham were decent sides.
Away from the Brit, Spurs are the best I have seen this season. They absolutely murdered us for an hour.

For me you can only include Chelsea / West Ham players - by far the best visiting sides we've seen this season

Tuncay is a strange one...he was quite impressive against us but i've since seen him in other games, the Newcastle game the other night inparticular, and he was less than impressive.
He is very direct, works hard and is very quick. Against us, his directness and pace created problems and chances.
Against Newcastle, and other games i've seen, his directness caused nothing but the blind alleys he ran down.
bizarre!?

first half, I thought Bolton were excellent against us, and Kevin Dvies was outstanding all night.
He'd do for us.

I know Bullard plays for Dull but you must admit when he came with fulham he was absoloutely BRILLIANT. Ran the game and was all over the pitch. We gave him the space to play though. We gave Lampard and Scholes no space and they still looked brilliant. That is the difference imo.

Chelsea were awesome at our place you felt that if we had equalised they would just have got another any time they wanted . In the Fulham game Stoke had 5% possesion Fulhan had 5% possesion and Jimmy Bullard had 90% .

Stand out players; Robert Green, Glenn Johnson, Tuncay, Lampard, Samba, Modric, Robinho Rob Green? I'd say he's the worst keeper to visit the Brit this season. He flapped at everything more so than the bloke in goal yesterday for Wigan. He was lucky to get that goal disallowed against him too. A flapper of the highest order and God help England if he's one of the best we have!
