When we had our £6 Million bid rejected he still had 2 years on his contract, he only has one now so we are bound to get a better price. Even with 2 years on his contract i wouldn't value him at £6 Million though, granted he's a great prospect, but he's not proven at this level, and i think anything over around £3-£3.5 Million is a gamble.

I think any more than £3mill would be silly for an unproven premiership player, I think £2mill would be a fair price

We offered £6 million.
So now we should offer around £4/5 million, I know it's a gamble but we have to think about the future. Cahill was bought by Everton for about £3 million and look how good he turned out.

Everton are interested at £3.5 million. Not sure if I'd be happy for us to pay that much.

Unfortunately he is worth what a club is prepared to pay. I reckon he will go for at least 5mill. Is he worth that really? Probably not!

To be honest i don't think matching Cardiff's asking price will be the problem. The main problem will be holding off competition from the likes of Everton.

Having seen a player similar to he who has come from Cardiff, into the Premiership and imo a much better play in Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) who cost £5M I believe, I'd say £4M top whack.

2M and Tongue or Soars. Cardiff would take that all day long.

He is worth about£2.5 million in my eyes. He has never played at the highest level as getting dicked for Wales is not the highest standard. He has potential but as with all British players you have to pay over the odds, which is why there is a influx of foreign players in this league

£1.5M with clauses to take it £2.5M tops.
My opinion is that he isn't up to the Prem, but if TP thinks he is then I will go along with him.

I just can't see him getting into Everton's side, but then again he might not be good enough to get in ours.

just to be controversial........;D
bearing in mind Bale was rated as £12mill at Southampton (yeah confused me as well) and some on here the other week rated our own Ryan as about £8-10mill, £6mill would seem a bit of a steal for someone who despite his age has already notched up over 200 starts for his club!

Unfortunately he is worth what a club is prepared to pay. I reckon he will go for at least 5mill. Is he worth that really? Probably not! H Agree with that RAF. Just because he's only got 1 year left makes very little difference to the price unless only 1 club is in for him. When 3 or 4 clubs are in then it will be a bidding war as normal and the contract length is practically irrelevant.

£5m is only about 10% of the money coming in for next season!!!

I dont think he is Prem quality and he hasnt exactly set the Champ alight this season. TP has a record of signing players he had missed out on previously so i would expect to see him here for £5m. Not worth anywhere near half that IMO
