You must actually have a broken xbox for this to work. If you want to replace your old xbox for free but have no warranty, follow these steps Purchase a brand new xbox 360 from your local game shop Take your new xbox home and take it out of the packaging Clean up your old fucked xbox so it looks exactly like the new one Wait one day Put your old fucked xbox in the packaging and take the old fucked xbox back to your local store Explain what is wrong with it and that you want a re-fund, You'll either get your money back or another brand new xbox 360, so its a win win situation. The only way they can actually find out thats not the new xbox is by checking the code on the back, which is very unlikely to actually happen. Enjoy your new free xbox ;D Edit: I know this works because I have done it twice  , make sure you don't steal any of the things like the pad or the hard drive because they'll find out so just keep your old hard drive and pad etc. This might work with the Playstation 3 aswell, so give it a go  |

I managed to get microsoft to replace mine (when the ring of death was about), I only got the ring once then it went, out of a spat of fury due to the xbox being shit and constantly playing up, I managed to dispace the disk tray. They sent me the free postage things, put it in a box, shipped it off and got a new one.

i nearly did it before christmas when mine konked out,
but i had a last second change of heart when i pictured a little lad getting the xbox 360 he's been waiting for since 2006 for christmas, trying to play it, then bursting into tears.
so i just got a new one and sold the knackered one to someone on here
