Zakuani fined for driving offence Stoke City defender Gabriel Zakuani has been fined £240 and awarded six penalty points after being found guilty of driving without insurance. North Staffordshire Magistrates also ordered the 21-year-old, who is on loan from Fulham, to pay £50 costs.
City chief executive Tony Scholes told BBC Radio Stoke: "Footballers aren't saints. I'm sure many of our fans have committed driving offences."
Zakuani was named among the substitutes for Saturday's victory over Cardiff.

Pericard is clearly a bad influence over our younger players. Send him out on loan as soon as the window re-opens!

A work colleague from Ghana had absolutely no idea about the driving regulations when he came to this country.
When I discovered the situation I had to advise him about the legal situation.
They do not have driving tests/license ,they do not have insurance,or MOTs. He was totally unaware of this.
If you were stopped by an officer of the law, you paid a small 'fine' to the policeman.

Clacton
That sounds about right - it was my neighbour who nicked him!! He told me about it about October time, Gab was driving his Dads car with his misses and a young child - he's only got a provisional licence and couldnt understand what the fuss was about (allegedly!)

How patronising is that?
With due respect to Mr Scholes, 'many of us' may well have committed a minor speeding offence. But driving without insurance is another matter,
