He's been a fantastic addition to the squad in my opinion and seems to be at the heart of things when it comes to maintaining the amazing team spirit we have shown all season. He has made the odd mistake here and their, but who hasn't? The difference for a keeper is that a mistake will rarely go unpunished and far better keepers than Tommy have made far more mistakes. His performance against Blackburn may not have been spectacular as he did not have many "saves" to make, but his handling of anything thrown into the box was superb. The back four seem to have confidence in him whenever a cross comes in, and the result is that he has less "saves" to make because we look so organised at the back. I can't think of anyone we could bring in who would be an improvement right now, but I think we should certainly be looking to bring in a young understudy who is willing to accept that he will be second choice behind Tommy. Simmo is not a bad keeper, but at his age I really think he needs to be playing first team football and could be off in the summer.

Those who point out that all good keepers make mistakes are spot on. I watched most of Banks' home games for Stoke and a few of his away games as well. Generally speaking he did look like the best keeper in the world but he dropped his fair share of bollox - and anyone who says he didn't is wearing very rose tinted spectacles! ;D
For the Newcastle goal, I though Soro's positioning for the original ball in was not too bad - it was the deflection off Lawrence which gave Carroll the chance and made Soro look way out of position.

I don't think a goalkeeper will be high on our summer shopping list. If we want to find an experienced goalie of Soro's standard, we'll be needing at least £4m, so it doesn't make sense to replace him for a good while yet.

Tommy has been outstanding for us this season. Yes, he’s made a few mistakes along the way, but on the whole he’s been excellent and a big part of the reason why we’ve kept so many clean sheets. His good performances and his great individual moments in games greatly outweigh his errors.
The difference with goalkeepers is that when they make a mistake it is highlighted more than most as it tends to lead to a goal. A midfielder can make a handful of mistakes in one single game and go somewhat unnoticed as the error doesn’t directly lead to a goal in the majority of cases (See Diao).
If you compare Sorro’s consistency and performances to the likes of Gordon, Gomes, Carson and others this season, who have cost millions of pounds, it makes you realise what a great keeper we have in him.
