I 'spose we don't know for certain that we're not one of the six!

I 'spose we don't know for certain that we're not one of the six! No we don't, although I hope we are taking the moral high ground on this issue.

I completely agree with march4 - football is all about ups and downs for all teams at anytime. We know what it's like to be playing third tier football. That' is what makes it so much more enjoyable now. This idea would create a stale feeling to football and would kill off many clubs lower down the leagues. He's only protecting his club, simple as.

The proposer is Bolton chairman Phil Garside.
Well thing is Garty knows Notlob are likely relegation contenders every season so he's trying to secure their future. Similarly, it might be hard to believe now BUT one of the main instigators of the Premier League back when it was first proposed in 1991 was Ian Stott who was Oldhams chairman. How much of a tit must he feel now?
Every so often the prosopect of the old firm joining the English leagues rears it's stupid head and nothing arises. If they were to join they should start at the bottom of the pyramid. But they shouldn't join. It's a daft idea.

Leave the scots out just invite Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter to join the prem, then end relegation and promotion. I doubt anybody would bother with the Champions league!

Yet another 'plan' formed out of greed and self preservation......hardly radical thinking and the idea of another knockout cup competition just between Prem teams....geez is this the best he can come up with. As a genuine fan of football I really hope this is heading for the bin...just live the the 39th game....but we all know the Prem is obsessed with money.

Different point of view (and i am not a Scott). What would this do to Scottish Footballs other clubs from a financial point of view.Would their other Prem Teams be welcome to the Fizzy Pop League?
