Havent seen a thread with ratings so here is mine:
Sorrenson 7: Absolutely nothing to do other than Faye's back header which he was quick to react to Wilkinson 5: For his usual rash tackle that got a sily booking. The guy has improved I will admit but still lets himself down at least once every game with a silly tackle. Just needs to stay on his feet more at this level Higginbotham 7: Not much defending to do as Blackburn had no attacks down their right. Distribution was better than usual and got his head on a few corners Faye 7: So composed on the ball when cleaning up but wasnt kept too busy by the Blackburn so called "attack" Shawcross 7: Steady game, kept McCarthy quiet but he isnt the worlds best striker. Lawrence 9: Looked back to his form of last season finally. Great crosses and corners but overall liked his sharpness of mind and quick feet all through the game. Made some lovely short interchanges with Whelan and a great short from outside the box before the goal. You just had the feeling he was going to score the winner all afternoon. To think that people were writing him off in the Premier a few games ago shows what short memories people have. On form Lawrence is our most creative player after Fuller Whelan 8: He keeps improving by increments each game at the moment, which must be a confidence thing. Laid off some lovely passes, and played a glorious throughball to Fuller. His vision and passing are what he is about and finally starting to see why he was thought of so highly at Sheff Wed. Delap 6: Worked pretty hard but didnt look great on the ball today. He normally has better skills but couldnt pick a piss. And the long throws Im sorry to say were totally OVERDONE. We didnt threaten from one of the 57 throw ins we had as Blackburn defended them well and pretty easily to be honest. TP needs to change the tune sometimes as I thought it stopped the flow of the game too much especially when we were the ones making all the running in the match. Its ok to slow the game down if you are holding on away from home, but at home we should be playing at a higher tempo and the long throw and stop momentum in its tracks. Beattie 6: Been anonymous for 2 games in a row, but still does try and executes well as seen by the flick on that helped create the goal for Lawrence. Not worried but hope its not the start of a goal drought for Beets. Fuller 7: Usual performance including a great run down the lright in the first half. I feel sorry for him sometimes as he has to feed on scraps and longballs sometimes too much. The last few games opponents have stopped allowing him any space to work with and marked him very tight. I think TP needs to look at this and tell Fuller to drop off deeper on occasion to find some space and get on the ball more.
Poor game for the neutral to watch. It wasnt the skills that were lacking but the sheer number of free kicks and throw ins must have been some kind of record. We actually looked pretty good when we were on the ball and had a bit of threat, but we need to use any momentum we have. Blackburn were poor and we looked the better side so maybe we could have relied a little more on our wingers and strikers than set pieces and sending the bigmen up EVERYTIME. Not a major complaint but I thought TP could have picked up on that tactic after seeing how poor Blackburn looked.

I think the ref contributed to the poor spectacle. Some of the free kicks he gave were nonsense and only served to lose the momentum of the game. And he needs to go on a course to learn how to spot some of the diving that went on. He might as well have worn a sign on his forehead saying "please con me".
