Sorry to labour this
the windbreak idea seems very very 'smalltown club' to me
It now looks like we'll be playing around with the big boys for a while now
With way things are going and season tickets heading beyond 20,000 again a 27,500 ground capacity is simply - not big enough !
its pretty obvious now to me that bringing the boothen end stand around to join the main stand whilst maintaining the vehicle access and, increasing capacity for home supporters to give a total capacity of around 30,000 or so is a very sensible next move.
I cannot imagine even our ultra conservative club failing to realise this (even recognising the training facilities investment too.
even Tony Scholes should see it ?
plus 'windbreaks with seating' actually earn revenue too you know (wink wink)
and probably wouldn't cost much more to build actually.
Peter - Tony - very, very nearly time to 'get your fingers out' on this one

FFS, we wouldn't fill it as we haven't filled the ground as it is every game this season. First corner to be filled will be the scoreboard corner to keep it symmetrical anyway.

Not yet. Remember the fascination of all this could ear off even if we stay up.
Tony, did you ring P&G on Friday?

yup - I did 'still living the dream '
as for filling the scoreboard end in
wrong ! wrong! wrong ! - soo fecking wrong !
where does the fucking wind come from ?
down a grassy embankment and around a scoreboard after going over a row of parked buses ?
fooking daft beyond belief !
its the boothen end stand that needs extending AND SOON !

It would look ridiculous. Fuck the wind. Scoreboard corner would make the South stand Seddon and Boothen a horseshoe looking at the main stand. Boothen corner would be daft ???

Absolutely and totally disagree I'm afraid
thats being polite
think through the logic
where does the prevailing wind come in from ? (hence the windbreak discussion)
where do we need more home fan seating ?
where would require least building and civil construction and bulk excavation ?
which corner has best construction, vehicular and safety access ?
why move a brand new scoreboard you've only just installed ? (a major task in itself ?)
I find it really strange having to try to explain all this -then again, I do work in the major construction industry
so hey !!! - what do I know ?

I completely disagree, JB. I think the scoreboard corner would look tremendously stupid. Filling in the Boothen corner not only eliminates the wind, but provides a real "home end". As well as the wind being kept out, away players and fans would be faced with... Well, a proper looking stadium. The noise would be contained more, and hopefully the noise from the Boothen would spill over into the JS and encourage them to sing. Plus what a waste of money it would be to move the scoreboard.
No brainer for me, I'd much rather see the Boothen corner done than the Seddon.

The corner by the Boothen is the place to be developed. We have only on three occasions this season failed to sell out our home allocation so it would make sense to increase the capacity by 2500/3000 we would sell them .imho 3000 extra seats would generate at least 1.3 million extra spondulas ..

FFS, we wouldn't fill it as we haven't filled the ground as it is every game this season. First corner to be filled will be the scoreboard corner to keep it symmetrical anyway. Villa Sell out Everton on a Sunday (Akward travel arnagements etc) 85 below sell out (maybe Everton sold 85 fewer than capacity I dont know) Chelsea sell out spurs sell out Sunderland 769 below sell out, date of game changed at relativly late notice, night game, kids cant make it..sunderland didnt sell out Arsenal 796 below sell out - Very surprising WBA 886 below sell out,. Baggies didnt sell out, pretty sure we only had single tickets left Hull sell out Fullham Sell out to stoke fans Man U sell out Liverpool sell out Man city 264 below, Pompey sell out to stoke fans, few single tickets left actualy Bolton and Bora neither sold out there end, and the ground was 1,000ish below capacity each time Castle sell out Blackburn sell out West ham and Wigan I hear only few single tickets left Thats pretty decent and to me would be significan evidence to say 1-2 thousand extra seats would be benificial! How average attendence must be 97-98% of capacity, one of the best in the country

You also have to consider those who may want to attend but dont go and buy a ticket because they assume that all the tickets will go before they get to the ticket office.
