Apart from Rory Delap’s party piece – the long, arching, slingshot-like throw – there are no frills about them. Instead, there is a clever devotion to the uncomplicated principles of sweat and roll-up-your-sleeves graft, which is both hardheaded and sensible.
Quality from The Times!

I see one Blackburn fan says that we'll finish bottom of the division next season. Well, he isn't the first one to say that, is he? Isn't that what a lot (bookies included) said about this season?

Quality from Merson: "At the end if the day if they come fourth from bottom they have pulled up trees in my opinion and they are going to do better than that. No-one wants to play Stoke, their home record is so good and they work so hard.
"Everyone says West Brom play great football but one's going to be playing in the Premier League next season and one's going to be playing in the Championship."

We can not complain about Merson. His comment says everything that needs to be said.

I like the caption under Merson's picture:
"Merson: Stoke fan"
And a nice quote from him there too - "Stoke have been an absolute credit this season."

‘You can count me out for any excitement on the last day,’ said Lawrence. ‘We don’t want to be going to Arsenal needing to win or draw - Arsene Wenger hates us.’

hmm, is that the same Paul Merson who said "if Stoke get promoted they'll make Derby look like Chelsea. They won't win a game"?

From the Independent:
"Allardyce, who was angry when Rafael Benitez appeared to dismiss his side at Anfield last Saturday, probably would not have noticed if Stoke City's Tony Pulis had danced in front of him making V-signs, such was the significance of this defeat"
