Good strong fast and attacking but seemed a bit overwhealmed when he came on and was a bit sloppy at first, will improve with a few more games. Good replacement for Wilko though

Isn't football great? re. opinions.
I thought he was very very poor. Going forward he either faffed about with the ball or lumped it. Defensively I thought he was shocking.
One particular incident (on MOTD download link), he dallied far too much, got disposessed on the edge of his own box and, if Pederson had have shown some brains, could have cost us 2 points. Instead, Pederson thrashed at the cross and all was well.
We and Kelly got lucky.

I thought he looked decent, but not match sharp. With a few more games under his belt....who knows?

Kelly didn't really convince me yesterday, but it was a difficult day to shine for our full backs because of the way in which Blackburn play. I would like to see more of him.
Another assist to Higgy yesterday. He set up both the attacks for the goals at Brazil, it was his 'pass' forward that led to the goal against Bolton and his cross for Mama's goal at home to Brazil.
Is his passing quite good really or is it just luck that we are scoring these goals?

If we want to push on next season, we need to sign better players than Wilko and Kelly. As much as Wilko loves Stoke and whatever, he isn't good enough I don't think for this level.

Maybe try him on the left rather than Danny Hooooofingbottom? If it wern't for 'Hoofingbottom' we wouldn't off won Yesterday... Says who? Who knows what would have happened if we'd started Kelly, we might have won 5-0

Is his passing quite good really or is it just luck that we are scoring these goals? Not so much luck as the law of averages I think. The amount of pointless, aimless, and sometimes needed 'hoofs' he gets through in a game is quite astonishing, and with Beats, Fuller and Mama up top throughout the year, it only stands to suggest that sooner or later somethings gonna fall in the right place. Given the criticism that both Dickinson and Wilkinson recieved last year (and this) over their distribution, Im actually shocked as to how Higginbotham comes out of each game unquestioned. Maybe it's down to the good year he had for us at Centre-back thats giving people false hope that he might actually be a half decent left back. It could well just be me though, not forgiving him for packing his bags, feigning injury and fucking off to 'greener' pastures at the sight of the first polished turd sailing his way.

Higginbotham has one hell of a cross though, and has a few assists this season. His "whooshes" up front are actually, by and large, decent balls into the channels for Beattie/Fuller.
To compare that to the distibution of Wilkinson and Dickinson is not fair IMHO.

To compare that to the distibution of Wilkinson and Dickinson is not fair IMHO. He has put a few great crosses in this year. No arguements. The ball in for Mama's goal against Brazil was brilliant. But nothing more than I'd expect from someone holding a place in a premiership starting 11. His 'whooshes' are just that though. I could achieve the same results with a swing of my right boot, which just about says it all really.

Can't just be me that thought he was crap in attack? All he did was encourage that messing about down the wing when all we needed was for Lawrence to get the ball in the box - instead, they did some ridiculously unnecessary short passing between each other until Blackburn could scramble it away. With Wilkinson on, either Lawrence would put the ball in the box straight away or Wilkinson would overlap (doing very well to control the ball on one or two occasions) and then put the ball in the box. That's what we need. As for Higginbotham being rubbish - who put in the cross that won us the match yesterday? I'd say Higginbotham is better than Kelly in attack as well, he can put the ball into the box (see Brazil at home) and he plays that dinked ball over the full back for Etherington to run onto that's created chances. Don't forget his assist in the away game against Brazil, either ;D Another one who agrees with you MD, I thought he looked very nervous on the ball given his reputation as an attacking full-back. Strangely I thought he looked better defending than going forward. Also agree with you about Danny, I think he's had a very, very solid season for us in his less favoured role.

Who knows what would have happened if we'd started Kelly, we might have won 5-0 That means nothing because Kelly plays on the right & Higgy plays on the left and if we did play Kelly there he wouldn't off been much better due to him been a right back not a left back

I think Higgy should worry about his place in the team over the summer personally. If I were TP I would be loking for someone who doesn't give the ball away more than half the time, it's crazy!

That I agree said to my Dad that we'll get another Left Back, think Dicko will be off in the Summer though or Shawcross will be dropped to the bench (which hopefully won't happen!)
