im worried about tommorrow, if we lose we are dragged back in to the battle, if we win we are safe, a draw and we are roughly in the same position as now, if we do lose i fear the worst

I wouldnt fear the worst if we lose neccesarily as we can make amends next week at home to Blackburn and we still have a more favourable fixture run in compared to other teams..... bt it will definitly make me a lot more nervous !

in view of the news that pulis is unlikely to change last weeks squad, i'm more optimistic than i was. My worry is that they desperately need to win, probably more than we do.
We need to be fired up as fans and hope the team have enough fire in their bellies to put this relegation battle to bed.

A draw will be a decent result for us, and worthless to them.
A win will leave us all but safe and depending on other results, leave the Toon staring the Championship in the face.
A defeat is not the end of the world for us, but it puts enormous pressure on us going into the Blackburn game, and I can't stand the thought of all the nonsence we will hear from the Geordie pricks so I agree, we MUST not lose this one.

The decent thing is that they have to come to win...they've got to attack, surely they are going to leave space that Fuller and Beattie will take advantage of...especially Fuller...could be quite an open game, I can see 2-2 or 3-2...just as long as we at least take a point I'll be happy...

Liverpool v Blackburn Sunderland v The Shit Pompei v WBA Boro v Hull And we'll know the results to all these games before tomorrows game...and we will be celebrating in The Boothen Concourse watching the scores come through..like we did at a similar stage last season when we kicked-off 5,30 against Bristol City... Blackburn/Sunderland/WBA lose I reckon...and Boro/Hull draw... So if we draw against Newcastle we remain 6 points clear of them and 8 points clear of Boro...Not a bad situation to be in...And if we beat Newcastle (which we will) we will be 9 points clear of them and 10 points clear of Boro... Then all we have to do is beat Blackburn and we're virtually safe...with 5 games remaining. What were the odds on that at the start of the season

I'm also worried about tomorrow, not least because we haven't lost at home since Boxing Day v The Shit. That's a long long time for a team at the wrong end of the division and I just feel we're due one. I'd take the dullest 0-0 ever right now. That way we'd be at least 6 points off the relegation spot whatever the other results with one less game to play. Plus Owen always seems to score against us.

we haven't lost at home since Boxing Day v The Shit. I think that's a good reason to be confident! I take your point about Owen though.

We, the fans don't have to show those nerves. They will get to the players on the pitch if we do. We have to be up for it from the start, be with them throughout the match, even if the worst happens and we are 0-1 or even 0-2 down!. Stay loud and with the team. We show confidence, the team will show confidence, we sound edgy the players will be too.
All down to us boys and girls? Are you up for it?
Come on you mighty potters!!!

Obviously want to win tomorrow, but losing isn't the end of the world. Still enough games to tie it up, plus of course, many teams about us have harder games to ensure their own safety. I expect a draw at minimum, which will be a great help.

We need to be fired up as fans and hope the team have enough fire in their bellies to put this relegation battle to bed. As you say, the pressure is on them. We can relax a little, and should play better for it. A loss for them will really put them in the R zone. We still have time to claw our way back.

Nothing wrong with nerves providing they inspire you. Courage is being scared to death but doing it anyway.
We'll be fine. The Brit is a fortress. This fixture is their worst nightmare. Defensively they are very frail, and we have as good an attack pairing as anyone in the Prem outside the top six. For them, in attack, Owen is always a threat, but game by game it gets less and less (he doesnt belong in the North East, never has). We need to stop that threat, before it starts, in midfield. Rory will take care of that.
As for the crowd, the timing is perfect. A long weekend, a few beers to oil the vocal chords and calm the nerves, and away we go. Bring on the noise!!!
Providing we don't get on the wrong end of a referees decision in the box or get reduced to 10 men following a moment of madness, we are strong favourites for this on current form, so lets just go out and do what we are best at: winning at home.
Carpe Diem!

Lets get things in perspective eh? We've lost 3 times at home in The Prem this season... Chelsea....easily the best team to visit The Brit outstanding performance by them.. Everton...very good team but lucky to beat us The Shit...had Wilko not been sent off we would have got a pont So WHY exactly are people worried about us losing to a team as poor as Newcastle? Shearer isn't playing tomorrow FFS...and his appointment as Manager has come through desperation...it's a sign of how bad things really are at his club...and the terrible mess Ashley has created... We have NOTHING to fear And we WILL win

sick of these must not lose game posts we have one for nearly every home game since xmas ffs. we could hammer newcastle tommorow hit the woodwork 5 times goalie makes a series of stunning saves at least two cast iron penalties turned down then the opposition score a breakaway goal totally undeserved. think im kidding? i have seen it b4 at stoke. but if we do lose tommorow we will still be out of the bottom three ffs

err...actually it'll be his 4th game against us tomorrow, and in the 3 games he's played he's scored 3 goals, 1 in the 4-1 FA Cup defeat last year and 2 in the 2-2 draw.
He wont score tomorrow though.

It inner the end of the world if we do lose but I dunna think we will. They have an absolute cack defense and if they get a goal I am sure we will get at least 2 more than them.
