I'm not sure how much I believe of the figures quoted in that story. We didn't pay anything near £5.5 million for him because so much of the fee was based on contingency payments. So, why Reading would pay us £4.8 million for him is unclear. I'd be prepared to believe that they would pay us £700k less than we paid for him but I bet they'd be entitled to knock the loan fee off.

To be fair I bet there was a whacking great bonus if we stayed up which being almost certain now means 5.5 may well be close to accurate. Just like there's probably a big bonus if he helps them up. Just cancel each other out.
