Stokies,
Should the opportunity present itself and you are within earshot of the former England & Newcastle United leg-end on Saturday, would you:
A) Shout something warm and congratulatory, such as "Welcome to Stoke on Trent Paul, normally we would wish you well on account of your magnificent achievements in an England shirt, however today, i cannot help hoping you leave our town without a smile on your face!!!. Take care though, the very best of luck with your continuing battle against whatever it is you are currently acddicted to (Wotsits?) and a very safe journey home"
or
B) Oi Gazza, you hopeless twitching twatter, have you got the booze out of your system yet or are you still shaking like a shitting dog? Fancy a couple of pints of Gin before you go back to your shittly little flat to ponder how spectacularly you have managed to fuck up your life?

A for me
The guy was incredible and I can remember crying as a 7-year old when he did himself in the FA Cup Final. And again at about 12 when he scored the most amazing goal I've ever seen against Scotland at Euro 96

Give him some of Mark Lawrensons crayons to feed on, yet another thing to tick off the addiction list.

He was a good player, but he's also a high octane ****. I cannot bring myself to not like Paul he was a star and deserves a little bit of respect...I remember him clapping our fans when he played for Everton in a cup game at the brit some years back. Although if I saw him just wondering around in the concourse in his pants then I would have to say something to him as that is not right is it?

Shouting something nasty at him would be cruel. He's clearly a deeply troubled man. He needs compassion.

Gazza is a legend, he's just crashed and burned spectactularly without Football's support network around him.
I wish him nothing but well & hope he manages to recover

I should make my position clear.
My original post was designed to elicit a laugh, not provoke a genuine discussion regarding the mental wellbeing of one of England's favourite footballing sons.
In future, i shall be more clear upon my intentions.
Best Wishes,
